Default BANNING ISSUE

...something has to be done,we need a MAXIMUM ban period as its a little stupid banning and just doubling up.....

I suggest a 2 week ban ANY offence unless a spammer which is life.

This way the person has 2 weeks to reflect on there action...and if they choose to do it again..another 2 weeks. The trouble with the doubling up is it gets stupid,Dave for example (yes he is a mong of the highest order ) 6 months he wont be back and he is a loss we NEED idiots like me to keep this place as it should be.

So please REVIEW the banning situation...forget about well if you cant do the time dont do the crime ...for some we say the wrong things...2 week max ban.

Maybe it should be 2 weeks each time... and after a certain amount of bans they are banned for life??

Phil,

Dave may be banned but he is still here...

Although longer bans, may generate more multiple user accounts

I completely disagree, I think that if people continually ignore bans and get banned again then it has to be for longer each time or they will just shrug off "only two weeks"

I dont actually agree with some of hte reasons that bans are given out in the first place, but thats a seperate issue, the actual principle of extending the bans each time makes perfect sense, just like with prison sentances, the more prolific an offender the longer the sentance they get each time.

Apart from Daves recent picture thread which was the funniest thing I
have ever seen on here for ages, he insulted everyone with over the top
insults and on many occasions, even newbies got the full wrath of Dave.

Never seen him help anyone on this site or have a proper conversation
so in my opinion its no great loss.

6 months ban well deserved for him.

I think it is pretty pointless when they can open up another account anyway...

If they do open up another account then they will need to:
Hide their IP (slight deterant I guess)
NOT identify themselves, and hence cant talk about their car etc (after all if "billy joe jimbob" signed up with a yellow 3door on escos rims it would be obvious it was me etc)
Behave or that account will get banned too

So I dont think its "pointless" I just think its just a fact that on the net, if you want to pretend to be two people its not possible to identify you if you bother to do a good job of it.

Interestingly, only the people who cannot follow the simple rules and often get themselves banned have any problem with the ban policies i set out.

Theres 27000 people visit here that have NEVER been banned.. and they dont have a problem with the simple rules of this forum Phil. Why do you?

Stu same old response from you ...some folk are more wild and into FUN...you KNOW we are all harmless in reality..hence why the bans are rediculous..i mean me and Chip...first you tell me it brings in the punters then your shelling out bans ..YOU KNOW US...this aint school..its a place for fun...many other people deserve bans for things said BUT they aint in the spotlight.

I disagree. Thats no deterrent for people perpetually abusing the rules or being repeatedly offensive, sorry Phil.
