Hi people.
I have a 1.6 1989 orion and the engine is slowly packing up and i want to replace it with an escort rs lump.I have heard so many different stories of how to do it and what i will need to change and its got me real confused.my orion is running the MFI injection system not the EFI,will this be a problem and what will i need to change when fitting an S1 and S2 lump???? Will i need to change the engine loom?? im looking at doing this within the next 4 weeks and hoping to just buy a used engine and drop it rite in. all help will be appreciated.

 

i dont think youll need to change the llom but id buy a car and get al the other bits like intercooler and radiator and other things to mate

 

rite well i have already got the standard rs inter cooler but it dosnt fit next to my radiator so i will need an rs radiator also.Well i have a few extra conetor blocks and sockets in the engine bay which arnt connected to anything so i presume they would be for the EFI version or some other model? thanks for the reply

 

they could be for many other things mate like diagnosis if you go mfi it will drop in and go

 

why not buy one a;ready finished

 

best buying a smashed up rst and transfering that all over mate
and the loom is different
