I got a '96 1.8 escort. Anyone out there know whether escort cossie calipers will bolt straight onto my hubs with the use of some spacers, or will i need cos discs? or likewise with some st170 brakes? cheers

st170 ones will fit but you would need to drill out the hubs from 10mm to 12mm to fit the caliper carrier bolts, they dont need spacing but will need 17's as they dont fit under 15's.
either that or i think you can run sierra 4x4 calipers, 278mm v6 mondeo discs and a 3mm spacer.

i think im probably leaning towards the 4x4 calipers and mondeo set up. got a feeling they might have bit more bite than the st ones but not really sure. its on 17's at moment with standard sized ebc greenstuff pads + drilled and grooved discs, thanks by the way

managed to get some mondy mk2 2.0l calipers, discs and pads for £40. after drilling the hub holes to 12mm it all bolted up fine with just over 2mm of spacing on the discs. still cheaper than replacing standard sized pads for uprated jobbies. but if id had money i would have got rs2000 discs as they wouldnt need spacing. anyway a nice cheap solution to better brakes till i can get an st170 set up.
