Default sub problem?

right all of a sudden my sub has stopped working but only on cd mode on head unit? it all works fine with the radio on but as soon as you change to play cd's it just will not work.

anybody got any ideas or does it soundlike the head unit is fooked

more than likely a headunit problem...a quick test though, is the amp light still staying on when the cd is playing?

amp light is going out when CD is on, but light is back on when the radio is back on

definately headunit related, try this;

disconnect your remote cable, get another wire and bridge it over from the positive lead so the amp is on constant, if everything works fine, its 101% headunit

finally got round to trying what you said mate and it works fine on all settings so is the head unit kaput?

just use an ignition live as a remote live instead

just a thought but you havent just fitted it and its stopped working have you? Someone I know had mistakenly used the wire for electric ariel as remote live so it was fine when the radio was on (powered to send ariel up) but as soon as you put it on cd (power to ariel off) it wasnt working.

No it wasnt me and yes I did take the piss out of him

then definately suspect the headunit...for a temp measure (or perminant if you like) you can wire the remote lead to a perminant supply and run it with a switch, that way you can turn the amp on and off as you like
