LED indicators
Hi I was wondering can anyone help ?
I fitted some motrax led micro arrow indicators on the rear of the bike today but I think something maybe wrong as they flash twice the speed they used too !?
This is also affecting the fronts aswell ( standard ones ) , all the bulbs work fine though its just the speed Im concerned about ? Is this normal behaviour for the smaller LED indicators ?
Thanks Dean

The rate the indicators flash at is governed by the wattage of the bulbs in the circuit. The LEDs you have fitted will have a lower wattage than the bulbs you replaced them with hence the faster flashing.
When you fit LEDs all round you need to replace the flasher relay with a different one but as you have only replaced the rear indicators you probably need to solder a resistor in series with the rear indicators to effectively increase the power needed to make them work and that will slow the flash down again. As to what rating of resistor you need I don't know I am afraid but the above is deffo your problem.

Hello mate thanks for that
, as for soldering can I get away with just twisting them together and covering with insulation tape

Ok went back to the shop and was given another set which came with the resistors this time , easily wired them up BUT the problem is STILL there even with the resistors in place !!!!!!!!!!!!!
I knew I should have just bought some bloody smoked ones instead

If the resistors were the right rating and fitted correctly then I don't know what else you can do.
Maybe get the LEDs for the front and get a new flasher unit to compensate.
Alternatively just go back and buy the bloody smoked ones

shit shit shit shit
Fitted some LED fronts today and its still flashing like a rabbit on speed
Do I have to change a relay now or something
Does look nice though maybe I should just put up with it

Deano,
If you've got LEDs all round you will need to change the relay as the old one will be rated for the old buld wattage.
Get youself on here......

... and ask about it. Many people on there have done the same and they are quite a friendly bunch, bar a bit of piss taking as you ride a Honda
