Default knee down on the road

Just wondered how many people actually get there knee down on the road? I have a few corners i get me knee down on but they all seem to be left handers, struggling a bit with the right or maybe just aint found a decent right hander who knows?

Piece of piss. You're just not trying hard enough!

Are you serious about not finding anywhere to get your right knee down?? This is what roundabouuts were invented for!

Get up early and find a nice quiet big one.

I remember first getting my knee down when i was 17 on my RD125. Up there with the other greats like loosing your virginity.

Ye i know what you mean, 1 of me mates got his knee down for the 1st time today, its a nice long sweeping slip road that leads onto a normal road with a path, me and me mate stood there for ages watching him go round and round lol, another lad failed but he'll get there.

Wheelies aint coming along at all cause to be honest i dont have the bottle to even attempt a proper one as i know it will end up in a bloody shitty plasticy mess lol

If you're ever up this area i'll show you a nice roundabout for practicing the right knee down.

I need to scuff my left slider as it looks a bit gay and virginal at he moment

Thank fook its not just me Like you I find lefts a doddle, straight down no trouble even on my old tank. But rights are a real struggle for me....its like a mental block stopping me every time. Ive check wheel alignment and every thing and cant find any thing to blame on the bike so it must just be me. I know on rights you can feel slightly less in control as your body position seems to crowed your throttle hand. Just practice more I guess. Remember when we were kids, the first one in our group to get his knee down....on another mates FS1e with beer cans gaffer taped to his knee's Wheelies are no trouble for me though.....learnt them on my old 350LC

I havnt got my knee down on the road yet. In fact i dont even where knee sliders. Im the opposite, i find right hand corners much better than left handers. Its all in your head though, i like right handers better because if you 'do' mess it up your goin in the edge/bushes/field etc. If you mess a left hander up, your going accross a lane of traffic. I need to get this out my head really so i can improve my left handers.

No disrespect here mate, but do you actually own a bike? It doesnt necessarily mean your riding dangerously if you get your knee down every now and then on the road. Im sure we're not talking every other corner here, but on certain bends where its 'reasonably' safe. Just like on 'some' roads its 'safe' to do a tad over the limit.

If you get your knee down round here you'll not come back up with a kneecap! Bloody potholes on corners, the lot!

Its not a mental block its the fact that my body just doesnt feel as comfortable hanging off on right handers as i do on lefts, i think i might just go out and lean untill i get touch down with the right lol

I found that too...... If you get your toe down you should of had your knee down by then. Try some long sweeping bends or go around a nicely tarmac'd qiuet round about a few times.

I found it easier on my R6 than R1.

Got my knee down a few years back, left was always much easier than right for me. Finally sorted the right out thanks to a rather large trffic island near me. Now I am a few years older I seem unable to do either knee any more!!!

i never get me knee down, ive never really attempted too altho the sliders are on there

trouble i find is that no matter how fast or what corner the bike takes it perfectly so i never really lay it down that far, ive had it well over but dont fancy the repairs or pain of fucking it up, and the dangerous driving ticket i could get if i chuck my bike at someone

its a blade btw

My mate has the 06 r6. And ferk can that boy ride a bike, He came past me last week at about 120 doin a standing wheelie, it was a bit windy so he was hanging off one side keeping it balanced. He then droped it right at the last minute , backed it in to the roundabout and was gone
Hes the only guy ive ever heard of that can wheelie a 600 in 4th.

Thats tricky like ...He probably lifted it in 2nd and just changed up while on the back wheel ..

06 R6 would be 128BHP

Standard mate. He gets it up at 110/120. has to bounce it up a couple of foot then as it lands he bounces it up again, straight up to BP. I do it in 3rd and the odd time when i have not realised i am in 4th it does come up slightly.
Theres a few talented guys round here. This cunt set everyone off before he had to move away.................

I dont even use knee sliders on the road. You dont need to get your knee down on the road to ride 'quick'. Ive been out with a few mates who get their knee down several times on a ride out and i still stay with them and mines no where near the floor. Its not necessary, it just looks good.

I agree you dont need to get your knee own to ride quick.

The majority of people just tend to get their kneedown on a few corners/roundabouts that they know well... nowt wrong with a bit of showboating!

aye nowt wrong with a bit of show boating, i just like to do knee down on track only.
Backed it in for the first time on the road today although the wrong way
Did it a few more times after that. I will get a vid sorted when ive masterd it.
Been getting the 6 to do rolling burnouts recently i recon in two week i will be doing circles as well. Trouble is i got corsa 3s so i am gona get the back tyre changed for one of my cooked track tyres next week and smoke the fooker. Pointless but fun

My mate does it a lot on his r6. Just for show realy.
I did it today by getting on the front brake so the bike goes light at the back then drop it a gear or 2 but use the rear brake to stop the back tyre matching the speed of the front. Not locking the back but slowing it down so it just slides whille still rotating. Sumat like that. But fook all like that pic above lol... probably only got it to step out a few inch.
That bike might be stepped out cos his spun the rear up though
