I've got a 1996 CBR 600 and it has -1 front and -3 rear renthal sprockets.

Is there anyone that can let me know how to work out what the real speeds would be as the speedo is miles out im sure.

The easiest way would be to follow someone with sat nav at different speeds, and work from there.

Do you mean +3 on the rear or definalty -3. My mates is 4 up on the rear and his speedo reads 10% higher than mine, and mines nearly 10% out as standard (as are many digital speedos), so his is actually about 20% out, so he's actually doing just over 80mph when his speedo shows 100mph

Well im sure every one tooth less on the front, is equivelent to 2 up on the rear, so yours would have been the equivelent to 9 up on the rear!

I would have thought if you were showing 170 it would have been MUCH less than 150 mate. Even a standard bike will be out that much on a digital speedo dont forget. My mates (4 up on rear) was showing 150 when the GPS speed was 120. 170 on his was actually 136 on the GPS, so your 170 must have been even less than 136 i bet in reality.

Incidently, he's just changed his back to standard and although the speedo's a bit more accurate, he doesnt like it as it is now and wants it back how it was.

yeah i know it was a race bike so they are far lower geared.
nearly on the limit down back straight at snetterton so spot on, but on the road it just revved its tits off all the time so i quickly changed it to standard.
it better for wheelies now it higher geared
