Default New to Modded Models, need advice

Hi Guys,

I'm just a collector but would love to modify my own model.

Just wondering what is the best cheap car (Ford) to start off with, but I also want something with good quality?

Basically what I'd like to do is maybe get a basic model (Escort Mk3 for example) add a nice factory looking kit, put in Recaros and then maybe a set of wheels, then spray it a fantoryish colour.

What materials, paint etc do I need to do this? I am a complete novice at this.

Cheers.

hey, you can get a sunstar mk3 escort convertible from modelzone for Ł15, or a hatchback for Ł30

look up these guys ( http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/model_moto...id=p4340.l2559 ) on ebay for bodykits, wheels, seats, decals etc, they do almost anything you can think of for a ford

or if you fancy making your own bodykit, grab a box of milliput epoxy putty from ebay, its pretty easy to use

Cheers mate.

Something like this be okay, http://www.modelzone.co.uk/1994-ford-escort-rs.html ?

I'd prefer to make my own bits for them so this I presume, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Milliput-E...4#ht_500wt_922

Also what about tools to shape the Milliput with?

Thanks again

Okay I had a quick look around the house,

I found a Jada Toys 1:24 Nissan Silvia S14a, (I have 2 of them)

Which after a few mins looked like this,

Then I found this, (Could I use this instead of Miliput?)

So I'm wondering how do I remove the windows without breaking them, (There the normal type with the little clip thingys at the top), and how do I remove the lights (Again the normal type, a little knob of plastic pushed into the hole)

The plans for this are, just a slight widearch kit front and rear, bigger rear spoiler and just a general Drift Car look to it.
