Default Insuring a motorcycle without a licence

A friend at work has asked me about motorcycle insurance. A mate of his has bought a bike and wants to store it in his garage until he gets his licence - mainly to take away any temptation of taking it out before he's passed his test!
Can this chap insure the bike simply against theft until he had obtained his licence?
I would say yes, but I'm not sure.

I know you can get 'laid up' insurance for cars which basically covers the car against fire & theft, and excludes any road or third party liability cover, so I'd imagine you could get the same for bikes
Try a specialist insurer like Adrian Flux or just do a google search

Thanks for the reply, that's great. I'll pass on the information.

Hopefully we can help for laid up insurance for the bike.
Regards,
