I have a Fiesta RST and wish to install NOS in the car as I want the immediate surge of power it delivers for overtaking. I want to run about 40 bhp of NOS on top of the 185 ish I have in the "engine"
I phoned up my insurance company asking about this and Boncaster said they could no longer insure me if I were to install the system!
who insures cars running NOS and what are the excess and prices I should expect!
Brendan

try paul at need to insure. if he cant cover it then he will know where you should try.
Insurers always seem to get a shitty on with NOS and roll cages. They must assume youre going to do a "fast and furious" or a "colin mccrash"
Adrian flux seem to cover anything but at silly cost.

Ive have a 200bhp jetted Nitrous system on mine for 10 years & its fully insured for road use. 838bhp dynoed engine + the 200bhp capability so it can be insured all mods noted. Its with Flux costs £1008 comp with 30k agreed value. Ive recently been contacted by another company at £700 comp to switch to them again all mods claimed.
rod, difference is youre in your 60's and do virtually zero miles a year. So youre about as low risk as you can get. Yet you still pay a grand??
So what hope is there for the rest of us who do decent mileage on a modified car??
