Default No claims question

Just a quickie!

If I were to insure my mrs as a second driver on my insurance policy, and she were to have an accident while driving my car, would I loose my no claims bonus?

I presume I would just making sure!

Cheers
Rich

If it were an at fault claim, then yes. Is your NCD not protected?

For one accident you may not lose all of your no claims in one go. You would lost part of your NCB. e.g 1 year for 1 accident. That is how it works with my insurance anyway.

I queried it straight away when I agreed that my Mrs could go on a policy with me.

^^^^ correct, usually worked out on the severity of the claim to how far your NCD is 'stepped back'
Although, as you will find, having your missus on your insurance usually brings it down. Certainly does with the insurance company I work for. Just wish my missus would get her bloody licence

Ok cheers guys, my mrs will rocket up my premium, she's a fucking liability

Got my dad on as a named driver, that brings it down £100.
