"to all my peeps, in the cheap seats"...
Have you noticed how many people in the media have started to use the word "peeps" when refering to people?
The quote was coined by one Xian (chalk another one up to yours truely for giving him that name, although this will never be admired by vince) from the WWE in regards to him when he was a proper face wrestler a good few years ago and has only just recently started to make it's way into "main stream" tv and radio, mainly on radio 1 during the entertainment news updates at around midday.
Or is it just me?

Cant say that i've noticed that, but one thing i have noticed, and it really annoys me, is when people use "legend" to describe people.
Our local radio station (signal 1) said Taio Cruz was a legend the other day, no he isnt!!! lol

Are you seriously saying that after searching through all records of the spoken and written word for say the last 25 years, you're going to give the credit for shortening a commonplace word to a wrestler?
How do you get out of bed in the morning without hurting yourself?

Oh, it's definitely just you.

But that's ok, I land on a wrestling mat and it's all pretend anyway so that's why I don't hurt myself in the morning

If you actually took the time to read the post you would have understood that the phrase I quoted was coined by Xian and it's not really been heard by me from any other source of note, and it's resurgance into the spotlight seems to have coincided with his drafting back to the WWE so I would imagine that's why it's been bought to the publics attention, yet why would the likes of the BBC champion it's useage in every day life?

Are you also crediting yourself with naming this wrestler, and slating the owner of the WWE for not recognising this fact?
This is comedy genius!

I'd you hate it then don't comment on it, WWE has a statement on it's website that says it does not read or enter into any corespondance or take notice of any of the ideas that are put forward, even though they use the ideas that are posted up on the various message boards, they will never admit to using those ideas.
It would take months to explain everything to you, if you were to ever be receptive enough to listen but the bottom line is that in the big leagues of wrestling (them being anything that will ever get you a contract in the wwe) you never ever day anything derogatory about vince, because he never forgets and will spend millions putting you down because of his ego.
I could go on but I think you are boring everyone

I thought it was Harry Enfield's "Stavros" that started "peeps" as in "Hello everybody peeps"

So are you saying that
(a) A wrestler 'invented' the word 'Peeps'?
(b) Because of WWE the word has come back into common usage?
I very much doubt (a), but have no evidence to the contrary - but as for (b) I would bet my house and all my possessions that that it not the case.

the first i heard of it was when Christian (who i shortened to xian way back in the day and then his screen name changed to xian a few weeks later, hence the reason i said "i called him that, my claim to fame, etc, especially after i'd already had 2 very well documented cases of doing a write up of how kurt angle was going to do a shakira "when ever where ever challenge" and after victoria's entrance theme was changed to "all the things she said" by them russian pop bints after she went a bit nutso (scripted) as a chracter) used it when it was the edge and xian tag team in relation to their "for those of you with flash photography, here is our 5 second pose"
you have to rememeber that this was going back some 10 or 12 years now when i first started posting on the wrestling boards and at the time there were lots of names and phrases coined by the peeps on the internet that went into general useage by the wwe, most famous of all was probably toothless aggression for chris benoit right at the start of the ruthless aggression phase of the wwe
now i think about it harry enfield may well have said it, but i didn't really watch and wasn't really a big fan
and 2, i've staretd to hear it again and, while it may not be as common as lots of other words, xian has recently rejoined the wwe and started using it again, so someone somewhere will have maybe heard it and it's started to be put into use more often than it was before
you know i could go on and on about wrestling for months and months, but the more i have to explain things, the more explaining i have to do to explain how those things came about, so it gets very long and complicated very quickly, i was mearly saying that i've noticed something, have you
and it seems that some have and some haven't
where's neil

why do you come on spouting about how great you and your boxing pals are when they only fight once every 6 months? is that because they are recovering from being twated silly in the ring by someone else? or because they're aren't enough of them with "skills" to go around? or because you haven't given them your seal of approval?
i posted the proof, you can't take it and so you've changed the subject all over again like you do in every other post you seem to post in
same with dave's post about him beating the lambo
at least put in some constructive criticism like dan has done rather than bullshit like you tend to turn some threads into
at least women can say they are on the blob, you go from one extreme to another in the blink of an eye, did someone beat you away from the lights this morning?

did you not claim to have invented the "toothless aggression" thing as well?
i think you need to either lay off the crack, or stop posting about wrestling on here, as clearly its opening you up to ridicule.

never mind that wrestlers wrestle 4 or 5 nights a week and boxers box perhaps 2 or 3 times a year, wrestling is "fake" and boxing ins't

they've got their blinkers on mate so no matter what you say "they" are always right and if you don't like what "they" like then it doesn't matter because it's going to be shit
