Default Steering rubber doughnut on cossys

Thinking of getting the rubber doughnut remade in alloy

so the question is would anybody else be interested in this for the right price (£12 approx + post)

I'd assume this is rubber for good reason.

Unless all UJ's etc run totally true....I'd be inclined to leave well alone otherwise it could risk damaging the rack.


Do any cars have a soild link to the rack ? Not like a PAS rack requires huge effort to turn it.

as stevie says...leave well alone, its rubber for a reason

if replacing it it needs replaced with a high quality UJ IMO

4x4 and escos dont have the rubber at all just 2 UJ's

Few people have already done this without any probs, Philram has had his like this for over 3 years without any probs

would just leave it but the one on the car is split from heat/age as are most are now hence wanting it in alloy

If you look on southwalesprops.com they are available new, and loads of others that are very similar under steering joint repair kits, on left hand side under the main steering heading.

4x4's are rubber damped on the shaft at the rack end. leave it rubber mounted.
