Default Engine flush?

I was just booking my Golf GTi in for a service, when he asked the mileage he said do i want an engine flush, so i asked him what it did and basically said it flushes out all the crap and gives the engine a better chance.

Is it worth doing for the extra £12 he wants?

Wouldn't waste the money personally.

On an old engine, it can cause the carbon deposits to be removed, which, in cases can cause engine issues with things like leaks.

On a newer car, unless it has not been serviced for something like 40k, it is a waste of time and money.

As said, it tends to move any crap there is to places where u don't want it. Far better to service it regularly.

as stated, it can remove carbons which are actually acting as a seal against leaks.

as said NEVER use on a car with more than 60k miles as the shite is generally holding the car together

its just spiv parketing shite to get more cash out of you and make you feel better !

chain oil once a year and you wont have any need for it
