good mag,tonys car looks smart but his recorded times arent up to much! No offence but apart from the top speed it doesnt really perform that well in MY OPINION.

NO offence? How else is Tony ment to take your comment? Your talking about a car Tony (and a couple of other good friends) have put his heart and sole into.

His car is prob the best example of a modified RS Turbo in the UK IMO. His car is also one of the few 1.6cvh RSTurbos to be able to crack 160mph at brunters (which was one of Tony's goals with the car).

IMO when you have a cover car that could rivial Tony's RS Turbo for the front cover of the uk's number 1 ford mag, or when your 1.6 cvh has beaten 161.2mph at brunters 1.6 mile runway then you could post up comments about it not performing well, until then just be happy for other peoples achievements

 

And PF didnt feature that bloody Maltese saff as posted before.

As said, Tony has achieved great things with his car, and it is one of the best rs turbo's nuff said. Having had the opportunity to ride shotgun with Tony I can honestly say I have never been buzzing as much as that before!

 

possibly one of the best rst's in the country and your picking holes in it, car is superb in every way possible IMO

also im sure tony mentioned on here somewhere his still trying to learn how to launch it, possibly why your not that impressed with the figures

LOL @ this... Cant wait to see the full feature. I was there in the cold watching the pictures be taken and Tony's face was a picture ALL day... he tried and tried to kep it a secret, purely so it was a surprise.. He did well I think.. I would have blurted it to everyone straight away ROFL

I havent spoken to Tony yet but I dont actually think he will be bothered about a negative comment such as the one above.. By his own admission 0-60 etc could probably be improved upon, but that takes practice lol..

When you are worried about melting an engine at 150 MPH and having to pay out again the last thing on your mind is laying down a decent 0-60 time ROFL... try it then get back to me

 

big respect to Tony for his feature. long overdue imo. tremendous feature. there will always be critics and doubters. proper car though.

 

like i said,it is my opinion. its not as though i said the car is shit.you say it is the best modifiyed rst in the country...ur gonna say that if your his mate. look at it from the competitions eyes. 320bhp. 0-60 in 6.18! That is far from the top. qtr mile in 14.85! in my eyes that is not fast at all. my car may not make it to the front cover cos you need to spend thousands of pounds on it. Theres no doubt it is a lovely motor,but it is impossible to say it is the best.when mine comes out to play(when its finished) i will be up for the challange with any rst at the pod.thing is mine will be zetec turbo so no doubt people will make excuses if the results dont go their way. on the strip you cant use an excuse that it spins all the way down the strip.thats tough shit in my eyes.winning is winning.

anyway, now that ive made the NEGATIVE comment, i know tony will try to improve these times to prove people like me wrong,i know if it was my car i would.it is a proper car,it has got all the ingredients and deserves the front cover,no doubt about it.all im sayin is the times were qutie slow for that sort of spec. i know every1 has different objectives with their car,but where are you gonna use 160+ on our roads.when he gets beat by the r5's etc,what can he say?"yeah you beat me off the mark but mine hits 160+!!!!) I am not going to type a long drawn out reply to you because I really can't be bothered...

It just goes to show that you obviously know NOTHING about me or the car other than what you have seen in the mag. If you take the time to read my 48 page thread about the car you would know what I have been through with it and what I want from it.

I am not interested in 0- 60 and 1/4 mile times, I couldn't give a shit. I have said this right from the start. I am sorry that it is not up to your standards. I will start taking it apart and and re- building it with a different spec just for you, shall I?

The car has big wheels and a big turbo, the strongest gears it pulls in are 3rd, 4th and 5th. How the hell will that make it competitive in the low down stuff? The Daddy Thrash was also the first time the car was timed properly so what do you expect?

Oh, and for your information, ALL of my times that day were done with another person in the car and a full tank of fuel.


Next time I suggest you make informed decisions when the know the facts before you start picking holes in other people's cars.

It looks fantastic as always and I mean what I said to you at the Norfolk meet 2 months ago - the BEST RS Turbo I have ever seen, it certainly sets the goalpost IMO
