I don't get why Paypal would send the money back unless there has been a complaint case opened and you lost??

Been hearing a few dodgy storys about paypal recently.

For the second time in as many months, I have had a payment reversed by Paypal.

This time, the payment was made in December for an Ebay item, luckily under Ł20. I then sent the item and we exchanged feedback. Job done. No.

Paypal suddenly decided 1 MONTH LATER to carry out a 'Chargeback'. They claim that the buyer has claimed the money back from his Credit Card. Anyway, I contacted the buyer and he said that when he checked his Credit Card statement Paypal had charged him twice, so he claimed one back. They then took it back from me, even though the 'proper' payment had actually still been made.

The last time it happened th buyer had no idea and was totally happy with the transaction. He even offered to pay the money again so that I wasn't short.

Paypal are scamming bastards who just 'try it on' with as many people as possible to see if they can get away with it. I disputed the last one and won. You should see the email response they got this time. I am still awaiting my reply, but I will call them tomorrow and sort it out.

I still use them, I just wish there was another easy, reliable option for Ebay payments.

escort700bhp, there is a number on their site. The one I will call is 08707 307191, but be prepared its an Indian call centre. I treat them with the comtempt they reserve for scamming me in the first place.

paypal very nearly got me....i sold my old phone on ebay (P900 sonyericsson) to a pakistani geeza. Transaction all went through then he started saying he never recieved the item after he had CALLED me to ask questions about how it worked and decided it was too complicated

he reported me to paypal who sided with him even though i had a receipt for the parcel and royal mail had confirmed its delivery. Once i got wise to him i got straight on the phone and made sufficient threats so as he didn't bother trying his pathetic scam anymore, he lived in leicester which would of been a nice ass kickin road trip for me. I could of easily been another victim had he not called me that time...backfired on the sneaky pratt

tip: never use paypal, bank transfers and cheques are just as good. if not more inconvenient as ebay scam you into using paypal at every oppurtunity

Click on "Advanced Search" in ebay
On the left hand side under Members click "Find Contact Information"
Enter his user ID and the item number.
You will be sent an email with his address and phone number on that he has registered with ebay.
Pay him a visit with some mates

Christian and Beccy

ive was on the phone for 25 mins on hold ..then disconected

ebay used to be good source for car parts and alike now its scam CITY

its a pity because the real true sellers are dragged into it to

i bought a dell screen for Ł500 ish before xmas ..on trust

sale was fine but know even after xmas only 1 month

so many BARE FACED BLAGGERS ON THERE NOW ..never again

its a pity because its a good site but paypal sucks because they own it

so it feeds there own problems ..and "money talks "

I've used NOCHEX.com for about 3 years and it seems far better than Paypal

Everyone moaned at me when I put up a post before christmas about an aggrieved ebay buyer who i wouldnt send goods too untill his pp payment had cleared into my BANK account. I'm glad I waited now

To be honest mate your pretty much shafted.

It sounds like the person who got your xbox has signed up to paypal with dodgy info.

Now they have your xbox it will be sold for cash.

Its happend to me once before. You won't get your cash back.

The only thing you can do is when people pay by paypal dont release the goods for 14 days after. If people moan tell them to fuck off as your covering your own back.

Unfortunatly PayPal benefits crim's more than Joe Everyman.

Even when it's cleared into your bank, Paypal can still apply a chargeback if they see fit it seems

And don't make the automatic assumption it is the buyer who instigated it deliberately and go round to give him a kicking, there's plenty of cases where paypal have fooked up. However if the buyer isn't a verified member then that may be a reason to be suspicious..

To be honest, it's as good as gone m8. You can request a chargeback if you do not receive the goods that you have paid for. Can you prove that this guy actually came round to your house and collected it. Did you get him to sign for anything ? How did you know it was the buyer ?

If you can't do any of the above, then there's not much paypal can do. He's lodged a complaint that he never got the goods, paypal refund the money and look into it. If they are happy he has a case, you've shit right out.

i bought a load of tools of ebay and payed via paypal. they never turned up, put my claim in etc and after a month got a partial refund, tools and delivery were 120. they gave me back 80 so i was 40 short on something i never had, got in contact with the guy i bought them off and asked for the other 40, he got ratty as it turns out paypal took the full amount off him they have kept 40 for themselves,
if im selling anything now via ebay if it is more then 100 ill only accept cheques or cash as they are the safewest way and you dont get charged for using them

when you recieve a payment in paypal, MAKE SURE IT SAYS ELIGABLE then if anything happens, you can get your money back.

if its not eligable, then your pretty much fooked if something goes wrong.

ALWAYS wait for a payment to clear if its not eligable, its just like a cheque. and remember paypal are american, so it taks a while as there not the brightest

as for your xbox mate, youve been royally ass fucked. get his address and go get it back
