does anyone work or has worked for serco

iv'e got an interview with them nxt
week to as railway engineer working on the railway lines
up and down the country.

the money is good and the conditions seem to be good

just wondering if anyone has had any experiences with them

serco are taking over the running of the site where i work.
wont be working for them myself as we are contractors. but we went to there site induction meetings and surpose to be very good

the work conditions they have do look good on paper
but i haven't been for the interview yet so i really dnt know
too much about them

all the mangement are going over to work for them when they take over in august
and they are on site already doing the IT work, and never heard one of them moan about them tbh

i applied for the job way back in october

i didn;t think i was going to hear back from them then i got a
letter yesterday saying that they wanted me to go for an
interview.

i will be working away from home for 7-9 days at a time tho.

you talking about the same company that used to be called ITNET? i deal heavily with an outsourcing firm called serco who do a lot of Local Gov work.

well, from my experience with them on the IT side, theyre one of the more cowboy type firms. We've just taken over a few contracts from them, and its shocking how much of a state they've let the systems in. We thought we were bad but they take the mick

proberly true jim,
the one that made me laugh this week was they was putting in the new secret network along one of the halls the other month and last week we started to paint it out, but there was one hell of a leak there right where they have gone into one of the rooms.
turns out theres a cast iron down pipe from the roof between the walls ( theres an acess panel to get to it,so not hard to guess theres something there )and the fookers have drill staight threw it and then had the cheeck to run the cables threw it aswell,now you would think you would know when your drilling threw a wall that its hard then nothing because of the gap and then all of a sudden your drilling threw cast iron

i worked for the MOD for 19 years, they outsourced my department and them a couple of years later insourced it.

being a contract it was down to the last penny

Did 9 months for them on the traffic side, maintaining and servicing/repairing/installing traffic lights.
Not too bad, paid the bills n that

applied fot this job with serco rail devision in october
i had the interview a few weeks ago.

just got a letter in today telling me i had the job.

i cnt believe i didnt think i stood a chance
