Never had a problem with o2
Used Orange and T-mobile they was shit!
All depends though network coverage changes by the area you live. I might have great service here you could have crap service 100 miles away lol

My Orange phone never loses signal whereas my O2 business phone loses it's signal if I stand in random positions around the house.
I would say that it is area dependant on who has the better network coverage to be honest.

Stu try this pace when you decide what network to go with.
They are supposed to be doing the best deals out of everyone in Birmingham

My work phone is with Vodafone but in all honesty the reception is fucking shit especially dropping calls for some reason and constantly having no/1 bar of reception on the phone.
Now my personal phone is with "3" which to start was terrible reception and customer services but i stuck with them and now it is def up there with the best of them never drops calls always full reception and for the money Ł35 a month i get 750 mins in calls millions of texts etc can't beat it

I'm on Orange and their customer service is great but I find the reception iffy at work and it fluctuates at home now (used to be ok but now I find messages not sending for hours etc). I also had the worst signal at my uni house and at uni itself when I used to be a student. I find the tarrifs are good for new customers but not existing ones
Best thing to do is check with mates on other networks what their reception is like at common places you go, for instance I have been thinking about switching to O2 since I was at uni and having reception problems there, I have checked and they have a full signal at home and at work, but then 3 use the O2 network as well so have the same reception!

vodaphone recption is crap . If I am in the house , I need to sit right at the front window or in the bathroom. 95% of the time I stand out in the front garden which is shite for this weather. Was Orange for a few years, never had any problems with them.
Horses for courses though. I may have shite signals but you may not have any trouble.

On Orange now but have been told they are in financial difficulty so may well be moving to another network.
Was on T Mobile and they were ok but we had a problem with text messages dissapearing and they didn't want to know.
Wouldn't use Vodafone ever again after we had to get a solicitor involved to cancel a contract with them
Never used O2 so can't comment

I am on contract with O2 and also have a PAYG with Orange.
The coverage on Orange is crap compared to O2, lots of places that it won't pick up a signal. O2 rarely loses a signal.
Also receiving Orange to Orange texts is shite, they take ages to come through, sometimes, not at all.

Seems so Stu, but there again I did find reception bad when abroad. Got a better signal in Spain than I did in France, Germany or Czech Rep.
Orange and T-Mobile signals are often believed to work less well in buildings, because of the higher frequency of their signals. Vodafone and O2 networks are GSM (GSM 900), whilst the Orange and T-Mobile networks are GSM 1800, so perhaps the mountains in Wales play havoc with the signal strength in our area...
