Default S2 RST ABS Belt question

Spoke to Ford dealer today to get 2 new belts for the above, was told there are 2, pre 88 (oct I think he said) and post 88. I need the early one according to the build date, but was told these are no longer available

He could not tell either if the later 1 would fit But the modulater is the same 86 to 90

Does anybody know if I can fir the newer belt? and what is the difference? anyone else had the problem?

i think its the teeth spacing on the belts, one has yellow print on it , the other has red.

Will fit mate both are the almost the same size tooth out maybe at the most

the diffrence was the brackets hold the modulators on after late 88 ford used the brackets off the mk3 fiesta with abs to the escort hence the change in belt numbers

Great thanks, I'll look to see what I can see when I do it. But that does seem strange as the say the modulater does not change. I thought it might have been width or thickness or something. But thanks
