Default 4X4 Cossie, how to bleed cooling system??????

Before i take the plunge and replace my heater matrix can anyone tell me how to bleed air out of my cooling system . Is it just a case of running the car up with the heater on full untill hot air comes out or is there more to it than that ? Any tips would be welcome

I did wonder if that may be the case but i cant see one. Can anyone put up a picture of it so i know what i,m looking for. I need to get this sorted as the Brakes on my daily driver went tits up today. A front caliper seal went on me leaving me with no brakes and very dirty pants. Mind you ,i didn,t realise that Escort Vans could do such good handbrake turns

Actually, if thats your engine in the siggy its on a 2wd housing, some of these have a little pipe coming out of the turbo side with a bung in, thats the bleed.

Another tip I was told by a rad reconditioning place is to fill the rad up through the top coolant hose, then fill the rest of the system through header tank
Something to do with rad on cosworth only having two pipes on it

Hi Stu,

Is that a special kind of Amalvalve I see at the picture of your car? And what extra does it do?

That is the control valve for the HKS EVC V boost controller.
