Going to look at a Rheims blue 1999 Evo 6 tommorrow seems cheap at £9995 & described as immac, before anyone says yes i have posted on the lancer forum to ask for buying advise. In a straight line what are the performance figs for standard 0-60 0-100 1/4 mile top end.
Thanks Simon.
Thanks Simon.

As an example, my car with full interior, road tyres and only 450bhp*, was only 1.55s slower than Kev Atkins fully stripped out, Dunlop D01J equipped, 550bhp Evo VI at last years GT Battle...

*I forgot to say that this was all the more impressive, as I was having to run the boost on position 10 of 12 due to a misfire, which I originally put down to the BP Ultimate (as mine is mapped for 98 RON Optimax), but it turned out that the coilpack was faulty due to water ingress

So are we saying that a standard evo 6 will not feel as lively as a proper 330bhp cossie 3dr, suppose i'll find out tommorrow if i drive it
Been reading up on the lancer forum 'buying guide', i only do about 3-4k a year at the very most but by the looks it will cost a lot more than a 3dr to maintain

ur well sorted escort went out the back like a mini at the N.Ring, maybe I should have entered this GT battle thing ![Wink](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)
ps Im just winding mike. I dont even own one anymore!
Evo 6 in straight line with basic exhaust n boost upgrade all within std spec is pretty much identical to stage 3 escort cossie in straight line. I had that race a couple of times. Tho a straight line 3dr was a bit faster with a very similar spec. Quite a bit lighter mind u
With those basic mods mine made 277 wheels ava. Good t35 500 cooler on a 4x4 cossie makes around the same

The Evo also looses far less through the transmission as well (as it isn't out of a Massey Fergusson

Simon.
They are raw and exciting and considered the "under-dog", so it is nice to make them into something that beats a LOT of modern cars. Plus Evo owners (especially Scottish ones

Just did a search of an MLR trackday at Dunkerswell (SW nr. Honiton), from a couple of years back. Nice twisty circuit with a hairpin (see layout below), tarmac but very dusty surface.......
Very few standard EVO's as most were 330-340 BHP, and some were 370-380 BHP.....
Oh, and the three "guest" Cossies were:
Me - to times as I lost second gear on the drive up there
Simon (SECS)
Phil 2400 in a RWD Stage 3 cossie and he WAS showboating as usual
not a bad time when you see the circuit layout - PERFECT for a RWD Cossie on Nangkang tyres
Here are the times in order, just for the sake of interest of course...

Mike.... just like your hairstyle then!

One day you may see the light and realise not only has your ABC Lead Singers hair cut gone out of fashion, but also your Escort has!
I haven't (and couldn't) be without a Cossie since 1994.

Shame, I would have liked to have come along to watch something like that. It is massively loud though, you can hear it on a hilltop about 4 or 5 miles away very clearly.

In all honesty I am not 100% sure that GT Battle is for me this year (but you never know). The Tuner Grand Prix is looking favourite though.![Big Grin](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif)
BUT.....
You can always get your car up to Elvington for the ScoobyShoot Out or of course TOTB.
Even though I am aware you don't actually enter, I may be able to twist Chris/Simon's arm's to let you run a couple of times on the handling circuit to see if you can beat my car!
Obviously this is all inmaterial, since your advanced car and driving will no doubt beat my piece of jap crap.
But hey.... call me stupid!
BTW.... Will you accept me as being better than you if my car is quicker around a handling circuit than yours!
![Surprised](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/bigcry.gif)
