It doesnt make him more of a man to admit he bottled it. It means he realised everyone would get to hear about it sooner or later and make their own conclusion of him.

I'm sure no one really cares if you fight him or not but as someone else said the fact that you came to that situation says something about your state of mind. Be man enough to know you arent a wimp if someone calls you one.

And i think its good Phil has stopped for long enough to look at his life and realise he has got all the things that matter to him and that he doesnt need to fight anyone, as hopefully it means he can go back to the being the PF Jester that most people (admit it or not people like PON its up to you) found amusing, rather than the internet hardman that just isnt original and bores everyone and doesnt do Phils somewhat unique personality any justice.
