Default MSA National B License??

Has any one got one?

I'm thinking about doing a bit of sprinting this year.

I'm a bit unclear on the requiremnts to get a national b license. Is it as simple as fill in form, get doctor to say you are fit and send off with check???

That was pretty much all i ever had to do for my ACU license a few years ago except there was a sight test as well.

Cheers,

Doug.

As well as the medical you have to do a written test and a driving exam. Its VERY easy though!

my misses is doing hers so she can race one of her cousins astons in the amoc,

shes had her medical, now shes got to revise the books and dvd's, once ready phone one of ARDS schools and do a days training, morning is a easy xam and in the afternoon you have to drive an instructor round the track for a min of 4 mins, speed not needed just got to show you can drive round the track with confidence and with the knowing of whats happening around you.

Good luck bro, im sure you will pass

Do you need that for Sprinting?

A Non Race National B is all you need for hills and sprints!

beaten to it by Alex.. the license you need for sprinting doesn't involve any driving exams at all... just a couple of forms and the medical iirc.

no medical required for a non race national B, just fill in the form and send it with a cheque, think it's about £33 this year.
I believe once you've done 4 climbs/sprints and had your licence signed at each you can get it upgraded to a Race National B withouth the exam/test required.

Ok firstly it depends on what car you have and whether you intend to run it as a road legal car? If you can give me details I can better advise?

The reason I ask is depending on what car and class you will run in will determine what level of licence you need.

Whatever licenece you need for sprinting and hill climb (in fact any motorsport where where you are not directly racing at the same time) you DO NOT need a race licence.

You CANNOT start with a National A non race which as said above rules out certain cars and classes. You will startr with a National B non race which is straight forward to apply for.

I would strongly recommend jhowever that your first port of call is your local car club who will give you details of your regional speed championship and that way you can call the organiser and find out all you need to know.

If you do any sprints this year keep your eyes out for our red sunbeam and come say hello.

Hello mate,

Our main championship is the Northern Speed (This year we have a closed event round the TT course!!!!!) though we do odd rounds from other championships such as Midland speed championship and British Hill climb.

(Reason we do all rounds of Northern is that my brother who drives the car is based up in cumbria so less travelling to do all rounds.

For the Northern speed we have managed to blag our way into modified production saloon, ROFLOL though for other championships that we do odd rounds for we run in sports libre.

I think i am going to sign up for the AEMC championship (Association of Eastern Motorsport Clubs).

They have sprint events at the following venues.

Know Lydden and Brands from my bike days but the others are all new to me.

North Weald
Longcross
Curborough
Debden
Bentwaters Parks
Lydden
Abingdon
Goodwood
Hethel
Brands Hatch

Seems like cheap motorsport to me. £33 for the licence and £20 to join the Borough19 club. Bargain

I was almost correct, you can upgrade to a Speed National A...
it's in the 2005 & 2006 Licence application notes:

Race, Hillclimbs or Sprints. (One of the four signatures required may be replaced

completion of the school course) OR Obtain the Clerk of the Course’s signatures
at six Clubman or National ‘B’ Rallycross events.
