Default Chicken Tikka Masala & RHYS

Hi all

For those of you who dont know I am a massive lover of the take away English Chicken Tikka Masalla takeaway dish (as I am sure many of us are!).

Rhys is on to the case but as yet hasnt turned anything up which is why I am appealing to the Passionford contingent (definately appreciate your help so far buddy ).

I started off by asking my local Indian for the recipe to which they replied "thank you very much for the compliments" and seemed to think I wanted to set a rival company up.

I bought my girlfriend the Madjha Jaffrey (sp?) book for Christmas the year before last (which cost a fortune in postage and didnt turn anything up)

I have had so many during my time in England and tried to analyse the recipe but to no avail. It is not available over here as it is tailored to be less spicy for the UK market with more coconut and tomato.

Ranj - I know Rhys was going to ask you and not sure if he did.

Can someone please ask their local Indian for an exact recipe or can any Indian members please provide it. I dont want to set up a rival firm, it is delicious and I am dying here without my beer and tikka masalla!

Thanks in advance! Passionford is like the online Jim'l fix it. Come on Passionforders

it is handy if it returns what you are looking for

Unfortunately after 2 years of trialling different recipes I can say with 99% certainty, that isnt it.

Main thing that comes through with the taste is coconut.

Please help a desperate passionforder people

Thanks GrahamS1

They all seem to taste very similar in the UK but could be marginally different.

Yes Oz Indian Takeways are not good. Chicken tastes like old chicken that has come out the fridge and been thrown in the sauce and served

noooooooooooooooo

I thought they were marinated over there from raw?

Here it is like they have a big chicken in the fridge and just go and break some breast off and chuck it in the sauce.
