and don't read that as claim for whiplash as i hate everyone that goes out and claims for no reason

Apart from the light and indicator isn't it still driveable ?
You will only get a car whilst its actually in for repair, or whilst waiting for the cheque to arrive, and they wont be able to authorise it until its been assesed or quoted on.

Tony they did mention quotes but they have to speak to her insurance first.
It seems driveable, although i have only driven from the recovery truck onto my drive. its dark now so cant see much.

As said get a coutesy car of her insurance at no cost to you,If you are clearly not to blame and your insurance tells you this,
then if this was the case non of this should cost you anything,if you get a coutesy car out of your own pocket keep the reciepts,
If you use the bus or get a taxi keep all of the receipts any prescription bills keep the receipts,
This is what my solicitor told me when a woman shunted me and the missus last year, and they tried to blame us
and if you do claim for an Injury you must tell the police that you have been injured, incase she has no insurance.

I recon to repair it with just whats viewable... wing, bumper and grille, complete light, bonnet £250 in parts then when you take in account paint, materials and labour it'll be £750 so I recon they'll write it off...... and who knows whats lurking behind the damage that you can't see
Shame its a clean car and won't be easy to replace
Defo look into a courtesey car as at the edn of the day it wasn't your fault so why should you be outta pocket

Hey, did a very similar thing to my mk6, altho my fault anyway, we got a quote to repair, wing, bumper headlight. 1100!!!!! stupid, anyway, it was more than 2/3 value of the car so a right off! But i said i could repair it, they gave me 500 to repair. So try that, our insurance guy said they dont give the option to buy back any more! I look round a lot of salvage sites and stuff if i see your car i will say!

Just been on ebay hunting down parts.
For a bonnet, headlight, bumper and wing it came to 170quid, obviously plus fitting and paint. just weighing up my options if they do write it off i may buy it back.

thats shit news mate.my insurance company tried the same crap about a courtesy car when it wasnt my fault.contacted http://www.helphire.co.uk/
and they sorted everything.got me a car withing 24hrs and sort everything for you.even if its found it wasnt your fault your only liable for a £15 pound waiver charge.thats all i got charged and you get the car till your cars either fixed or you get a payout worth a try and youve nowt to lose i reckon.they also try there hardest to get you to claim for any whiplash etc lol

Deffo get onto a claims recovery firm, being in an expensive hire car encourages them to pay out.
As the longer you take to accept an offer, the more it costs them.
And dont forget the obligatory whiplash claim, thats another 3K straight away.

Liverpool Victoria sorted me with a brand new Focus C Max thing. Had it for 2 weeks.
It could only be sorted the same day the inspector had been to look at my vehicle. Nothing at all to do with who's fault it was.
My pains were in my neck and upper shoulders, dunno if that differs as I was hit hard from behind by a HGV.
The cheque came within 12 days of the accident.
They are on the ball these days
