Had a bloke called jeff phoned me tonight about my escort, he said he lived up north and wanted to buy my escort, i said o and said i whouldnt sell it and if i was i whould want 25k just to think about it, this normally is enouth as most people think they could have the car for about 18k, and then go "O" i havent got that much sorry mate, he said well have a think about it and come up with your price and i will ring you tommorro,
Well this has made me think does he want to buy the car or nick it, the car is very secure but you never know and i just wanted to know if any one might know him or better still if you are on this site.

must be keen to go thru the rallye news to find your number.. I would be very suspicious.. as said could be genuine, but to be honest I would take precaution.. If he has your number, the chances are he has your address and maybe was confirming if you still have it/got it..

All that said, could be a nothing call, and genuinely interested..

yes i hope so westy, i was trying to watch the darts and speak to him at the same time so was not really 100% with it on the phone and it wasnt till after the darts had finished i stared to think what a strange phone call. I was hoping he was a user off pf and it whould put my mind to rest, it will probley be nothing to worry about

 

A good thief doesnt worry about an hour ...my neighbour had his motocrosser nicked from his shed which is outside his back door.....they broke into the back of the shed,unscrewed the door from inside,neatly stacked up the rest of the shed contents on the lawn then moved another bike out of the way before finally wheeling the bike down the path.This must have taken them a fair while and no-one heard a thing,even the dogs.I dont mean to put the shits up you m8 but all im saying is take precautions coz if they want it they WILL have it.

if this guy wants the car and has gone through all this to get your phone number etc, i would have made sure i'd have left my phone number so the person potentially flogging it would get back to me if there was a change in plans, especially if i was coming from a long long way away

sounds a bit suspect to me mate, even if the guy IS on the level

i've invested in big bits of steel in my garage, i can bolt the car to them AND have them post things up so the car can't move

my mate had his saph up for sale in here also, he had a phone call inbetween christmas and new year saying they wanted to buy it and had cash waiting, but it is also not for sale anymore

was a southern accent tho, maybe a geniuine call but told him to get anybodys eles number if he gets any other calls

 

Well he phoned back today and i have his number now had a chat again and he wants the car, but i said i didnt want to sell it he then said i will give you £ ------- ( a very very large sum) for the car and will bring it down when you like but i said no!! he said i thourght you whould snap my hand off with that offer, after another chat latter on he has upped it another £500 and said this is all that he has got and i said i whould think about it and ring him latter on in the week, o i dont know, its one to think about, the only problem is i love my car and dont know what i whould replace it with, with out spending about 60k

well the offer is large and has made me think about it, but i whould still be at a loss off about £10 k but if you spread that over the 6 years i have had the car then thats not to bad really

 

dont sell it mate, if you wanted to you would do, like you say its large amount of money something you may never get offered again so if you wanted to sell it you'd have said yes.!
