What graphics card type this is as i need a new one for my spare PC and dont want the wrong type!

Just pop the card out and have a look at the slot, this is AGP...



And this is PCI...

Or look on the card for the brand and number, and use Google to find the spec listing.

you can tell because of the vlip at the back of the card.

plus it looks too shit to be pci-e

...that one is a radeon x300 if it helps?

It aint AGP surely? As you can see the card has a cut out in a different place to that AGP pic???

It does look AGP, my old one was so i changed the motherboard to PCI-E type to house my Nvidia 7800GTX.

According to ATI this series is PCI-E.

Surely you'd want to make sure the spare PC motherboard will accept the card you want to buy, and not buy a card the same as one on a motherboard which may be totally different to the one in the spare computer??

Just had it out...and it is NOT AGP

It looks more like that PCi slot....but the other way round...

That is my spare computer!

It must surely still have warranty? It can't be that old and from the amount of dust around the cooler it doesn't look old...

Just buy the same card from Ebay if you have to...

rudey, but NOTHING can take advantage of 8x AGP yet so PCI-E isnt being anywhere near fully utilised!

the X300 is pci-e!

..mate i am UPGRADING!!!!!.....Its only an x300 and i want a better one for games plus i want a DVi slot on it aswell (i know the website says its got DVi output...well this hasnt as its a budget card no doubt ) Only about 6 months old and i want to use this one as a media center for the new TV as its like a cube and is silver and looks very cools ..as you see its NEEDS a DVi output...my other older comp has one but its a big old comp that dont look right in the living room

That is deffo a PCI-E card and I would say its an ATI X300 as Ive just built a machine sing a X300 and its VERY identical

A good card is the geforce 6800 ultra, this one has the dvi out that you can use on that new tv of yours. The second one in the link is a faster card than the 6800. Only would need this if you want top performance for games. Third link is top of the range.

when phil said "spare PC" i imagined it was an old pentium II kind of afair and was only looking for PCI vs AGP pci cards don't have the clip. unfortunately pci-e ones do
