Default Buying an Xr2...

Hello there, i am going to look at an Xr2 later on today and i was hoping you all could give me some information on common problems and faults that i should be looking for

The dreaded rot behind the bodykit mainly around the rear arches and sills, battery tray

Unless its mint and you know it is..... don't pay a lot for it... lol...... best way with an XR2 is to buy one cheap as chips.... then set about putting your money into it retoring it......

As above - what's behind the kit is what to mainly look for - butr also check battery tray, front panel and waings and boot floor. Worth looking round screen rubbers and scuttle as they 'go' there and also, check undeside / sills and boot floor.

check the front top mounts and around them, water just falls in where the bonnet meets the wing. check the sills on the inside cos the sunroof has a hose which runs down the pillar into the wing, if its perished or fallen off or something it'll leak. take the sunroof out if ya can and check for rot around the tabs where it go's into the roof. front valence tends to rot too, mainly uner the headlights behind the bumper. and the boot floor and arches, lol they rot everywhere... old fords... ya gotta love em! but these are the worst bits.

come and buy mine and i can honestly say she aint rotten and never had any welding and has never failed an mot in its life

oh and its the best colour possible (crystal blue)
