Default Series 2 help

Im about to help a friend take off his standard s2 gearbox with abs and replace it with a box without the abs. Could someone tell me exactly what i have to do to bin the abs and the easyest way to do so.

Cheers

You'll need to either block off the brake pipes..

Or put new braided ones in and do away with the abs system/belts

Look in the RST Room, theres a few threads im sure

if you just remove the belts thats still not good enough as the fluid is still having to be pushed through the system sso would be a waste of time

buy an xr3i res as it dont have the two extra feeds or you can block the pipes with bolts and jubilee clips, and when you have binned the abs units you can either bend and make a new pipe to connect the pipes up together under the car or make new ones from the master cylinder.

Hey peeps thanks for the reaplys ! The gearbox is knackered and we thought that putting the new box on (not from an s2) we would have to bin all that abs rubbish ?

all the pipes are bolted to the back of the gearbox cradle...

you need to run new pipes from the master cylinder to the T pieces on both wings, dump the pumps and pipes bolted to the gearbox and back of the cradle, block the 2 pipes coming from the reserviour, bleed the system and your done
