mate of mine says her internet connection speed is 54mbps?

what kind of connection is that because its so much more than what mine is

no i asked her what her speed was and said if you dont know have a look at the bottom right near the clock and thats what she did, and i said theres no dots between the 5 and 4 is there and she said no its 54

She's probably connected wirelessly to her router using 802.11g which is IIRC 54Mbps

The actual connection speed to the internet is not the same as the speed of your network (i.e. the speed between the router/modem and the computer terminals).

EDIT: going by my network connection I've got a 100Mbps connection

speed of pc? right click on my computer icon and click properties, most of your spec is on there, as for internet speed theres various different websites that can do a free speed check, not 100% accurate but there not far off, this is the one i like to use www.bandwidthplace.com/speedtest

Not very consecutive.

did it 3 times, first one being 644.1 kb per second

second try, just to see if it was about the same was 402.6 kb

and the third, just for the pure hell of it was 376.9 kb.


Looks like my downloads speed is deteriorating, ill not be able to download anything by the new year
