yes mate, was my first trip, that was only about my 8-10th lap, on my last day I went out with a guy who had raced there, he took me out in his 160bhp mk2 golf which was setup for the track,

stunning driver and teacher and I learn't a hell of a lot, like what u said about the kerbs, some places I was slowing down for a lot I could keep a better line and not even have to lift off which was useful as my car is only lowish power so carrying as much speed through bends helped a lot.

takes a while to get realy fast through the whole track but I think after a few trips there I should be much faster than I am now

can't wait till next year, will be so much better 2nd time round

Aye, that you will be quicker next time - nothing to be ashamed about that lap tho, you were going well

It is very humbling to go out with someone who properly knows the track, I've been out with a local in his mk2 Golf who has done 1300 laps in the last 3 years or so

Nothing more satisfying than passing a 993 Turbo around the OUTSIDE of miss-hit-miss in his Golf!! ( the long right corner before Wehrseifen )

I have been going since 2000 , excellent place, people and scenery

Don't know if it's still up, but this should be a lap in my girlfriends Golf R32 from this year, I was being cautious when passing folk as it's not my car, it costs more than I could afford if I stacked it, so it's 'only' a mid 9 min BTG lap .. excuses etc .....

Karl's car is/was (he's sold it for a 944) red mate, he's an English bloke that's lived near Adenau for 7 years.

Ahh, cool pics - I know who you mean now... He was there when we were too.

See there's a lot of pictures of Anders Johnsons GT3 , He took me for a lap in that and I drove it on the surrounding roads also

What an awesome car (and I don't usually like Novas at all), I was going to ask what car it was on downloading the clip! very quick indeed for what must be in the scale of things quite a modest budget to build that little rocket!

Very good driving as well!!

Don't the locals say anything under 10 minutes in a road car is mental?!!

Thanks for the clip

To do a sub 10 min BTG lap you have to average 78mph around the whole track.

Red mk2 Golf in the pic above is a german spec stock engined 1800 16v so 130bhp at the most, it's got a shock/spring kit, cage and Good year F1 road tyres and is fairly stripped inside and Karl has lapped in 8'40

It's all about track knowledge.

Agreed that the lap that jonnybravo's posted is v good, esp for a first trip
