1: can u use a certain amount of your bonus on another vehicle or NOT!
2: what happens say after the max has been obtained???? what ever that IS ie I've NEVER had a claim(touching abit of wood now ) so must have about 20 odd plus yrs etc which they ARE protected
reasons for asking am thinking of another motor but need the no claims bonus to make it worth while if you get me!

You can't usually transfer no claims no, although we seem to have managed to do it on our second cossie (3 cars insured, all with full no claims).
I have checked with both insurance companies, and it's all above board, so it is possible.
Max NCB I think is 5 or 6 years, which allegedly represents a 60% discount, but I am not sure the rule is the same for all insurere, etc...
20 years with no claims, you should find an insurance company that will see you as a very low risk and allow you full no claims on that basis. Even more so if you say you can only drive one car at a time (doesn't account for theft though )
Good luck

6 years is max.... IIRC
Some companies will give a NCD on a second policy, but very few will give a discount from day one
I have full (touch wood) NCD on my private policy
On my Trader policy I started with nothing though now have 5 yrs NCD, though that is an unofficial discount, more of a goodwill stay with us type gesture

PS: depending on what the other car is, you may find it worthwhile transferring the NCB across and starting a new policy. Some companies offer introductory discounts that may be worthwhile.
