Default OMG, i'm a genius!

Isn't it amazing how the solution to a problem can come from anywhere?

I just been outside for a few hours removing the exhaust manifold on the omega, and whilst i waspottering about undoing exhaust manifold nuts my eyes were wandering over the engine bay to get a good idea of how it all goes back together (never done an ecotec till now)

Then what do i see? I see the ecotec throttlebody I dunno why i didn't see it sooner, it would have solved my YB throttle body, TPS, and ICV problem in one swoop!

Check it out

When 2 holes are aligned, the other two are out by 1mm, so once i've drilled a bit, it should be fine

What wouldn't have worked?

anyway, the elbow will have the modifications as modifying the TB itself would cause problems. The threads on the elbow will be welded to fill them, then new holes will be drilled to line up with the ecotec TB holes

Using the ecotec TB means i can use the ICV (i think its the same internals as the XE) and the LET throttle position sensor should bolt straight on with no worries

There is however something im not sure about, IIRC the ecotecs use siemens management, and the XE uses bosche motronic.

will look into it when my TB comes from ebay
