one of my best mates has a cerbera, great car and sounds amazing! (de cat'd pipes etc) just over 400hp and a nice all round car.
just like cossies you need to be good with a spanner mind (imo )
I would get one if i wasn't building my focus now

cerbera is the quickest one ent it? i prefer the sagaris or the tuscan but i guess the overall impression is that they are decent cars? just heard alot of reports about them breaking alot!?

I love them and seriously considered buying 1 however the newer models are renound for problems. A friends Tuscan S having had 2 engines fitted and spent most of its life under his ownership back at the factory for one thing or another.
Ive driven a Griffith500 loveley car, sweet sounding and loads of torque from way low in the rev range. Minus points most people will emphisise the electrical issues that seem to plauge TVR, the engine's although said to be more reliable do tend to suffer from heat issues.
Beautiful cars IMO

best friend at work had a black TVR cerbera 4.5, v quick, doing low 12s @ santapod, decatted and emerald ECU, lovely magnolia leather interior. absolutely shocking reliabilty though it isnt a myth about what they say, constantly at tvr power in cov and joospeed in chesterfield, very hairy in the wet as well given no traction control, abs and 400bhp.
he died in it about 6 months ago, near telford, m54, barrier + tvr.
they dont joke about the crashes in them either :/
ps he was 35 and very apt at driving hi powered rwd cars, owned it for over 2 years but when they snap :/

awesome cars but then i am biased ( work for a tvr specialist )
do not fuck with them though as they are lethal , we had a salesman killed on testdrive in a tuscan
chimeras and griffs offer best punch per pound good fun torquey traditional sports cars that dont cost the earth to run !
t350's and tamoras fantastic also 350 bhp in a fag packet
tuscan is also awesome ( get a 400 bhp s ) make sure its had its engine and been well serviced and hope you have had all the niggles done ( windows etc )
cerbera is a beast but tend to get the highest bills ! everything is expensive on the ajp engined cars
sagaris is just awesome so focused and the handling is amazing ! but then it is 50 k !

Had a chimaera 5.0 on an S plate, would buy one again tomorrow if I could afford it
You won't get BMW build quality/reliability, but few cars on this planet will entertain you as much as a TVR for the money.
Saying that, our chimaera never missed a beat in two years of ownership and daily driving.

Legend
The old man had a griffith 500 a few years ago, sounded but even with hefty discounts it was expensive to keep on the road
As much as I hate them, you've only gotta listen to the sound of the TVR V8 in Tinys Saff to change your mind....

i quite like them as a whole, its just a shame they rush them into production every bloody time which is why you end up with all the problems and shoddy build qaulity
there basically all the same bloody car anyway just with new body shells on them just go measure the wheel base on the t350 and the tuscan

They look and sound nice but are nothing but trouble. I was all for getting a new 4.5 Cerbera but was advised to go for a used model with 15k miles and at most 2 owners. The reasoning being if they had stuck with ownership for that mileage most of the faults and niggles it came with from new *should* have been addressed.
I have driven Tuscans/Cerberas/Chimeras/Griffiths and they are the same.
Steer Clear or you will regret it BIGTIME.

There's always a risk involved in buying them, but get it right, and it's a hoot.
Getting thumbs up from bikers on the m-way in france was just about the biggest buzz....

heres some advice don't take advice from non-owners LOL too many people think they know about TVRs that know FA
if u buy one you need to do your research and buy on condition, you speak to any tvr owner and they will say the most important thing is condition condition conditon
just wish they'd sort that bloody speed 6 engine out though!

If the know fuck all is aimed at me I can assure you I have plenty of 1st hand knowledge and experience of Cerberas inc a red rose one /Chimeras and Griffiths as quite a few close pals all got taken in by the race pedigree touted by the factory. The red rose Cerbera broke down so much that my pal had to change recovery companies as his existing one refused to cover him after the 5th recovery job in 7 months.
The performance is also way below the factory claimed figures.
Maybe now they have had some money invested into the company they have stopped getting their customers to do R+D.

i love tvr's......
I have a tvr chimera v8 4.0, a very cheap sports car at less than 10K but nothing but hassle...ive changed everything you can possibly change and now its mint...
Women love them, great to drive, get a lot of attention nice to have the roof down..
they all leak, cost a fortune but i love it 2 bits!
Recommend one any day....

I've always loved TVR's & considered buying one a few times but i always get put off when i think about the reliability issues.
