OK sorry pal, just a bit pissed off at the moment, cant stand the thought of having that charge on my licence, im only 22 with one years no claims, how the fuck am I gonna insure my M3 next year

 

unfortunately my boss was reported for the same thing as he allegedly hit an off duty cops car and just drove on( light scrape). from what i was told the cop crossed lanes into him, it ended with a 6 month ban for my boss. i wasnt there to see what really happened but from what i was told it was the cops fault, and with just his word and no video evidence my boss was banned.

 

No one there to look big or clever to, not like i knew the next day there was going to be a discussion on passionford about coppers attitudes, and i wouldnt have started one myself.

I only mentioned what i said to give a background to what the copper said about finding it acceptable to waste police resources just to persecute someone who got their back up slightly with their manned even though they knew full well that person had done nothing wrong.

As for your opinon of me having never met me, based on the way you choos to read my posts (most things can be taken multiple ways depending on the readers outlook), thats utterly of no interest to me at all, but i do find it slightly amusing the way whenever there is a chance to have a go at me you always have to take it, makes you seem very petty indeed, but maybe thats just me reading what you write the wrong way

 

well a similar thing happened to me some years ago
i,was going home one night i was driveing an mi escort
with the seal beam head lights ,early on in the day i add to replace
one of the head light cause it add blown so i was about 5mins from
home then all of a sudden two copper walking saw me driveing
and they puld me over, one of them said ,did i now that one of my
lights was brighter than the other one i try to explained to him
that i just replace the said unit earlyer in the day and before i could finish
what i was saying the little prick put is hand trough my window took my
ignition keys out fling it on the floor and told me to come out and pick
it up so i,was shock,so i said to him you chuck it on the floor
you pick it up by this time is m8 was just standing there shock that he did
what he did so iam there trying to reason with this copper he was not haveing none of it,by this time my blood was boiling so after about 5mins he was standing by my drivers door,so i had enough so i opened the door and push the fucker out the way he fell on is ass on the pavement next thing i heard right iam aresting you for assaulting a police officer then he got on is radio next thing around 4 cop cars and two black cabs came cuff me took me round the station which was just around the corner put me in a cell for around an hour then let me go after,
went to court a few weeks latergot fined Ł15 for assult so from that day onto this day i have no dealings with those people if i can help it

i can honestly say that 90% of all the coppers that have given me producers and pulled me over or knocked on the door to arrest me at 11pm and all the other crap have had one thing in common

they were so full of themselves being "better" than everyone else, their arrogance was astonishing

i've been puled over by a copper for "having the wrong bonnet" on my car (the fact that i'd bent one and the bonnet was in primer didn't matter to him, producer) stopping at the scene of an accident (stopped at a zebra corssing, woman walks across, stolen car flys down the road and runs her over, i give chase as there is no one else about, dad's on the mobile to plod, i come back with the number plate and i get a producer), or the time when i got pulled over by the same copper who had come round the night before to look at my car that had been broken into (and gave me a poducer) or the copper who followed me down the driveway (waited for me to park up, let it cool down, shut it off and get out before giving me a producer, he was the biggest arsehole i have ever met, "is this your house, is this your car, have you got your documents on you?" " yes, yes, no i'll show them to you at the police station) or what about the time when i was hit up the arse outside the police station, got out, plod came over (and, you've guessed it, gave ME a producer but not the bint who hit me)

the best one was when the knocked on the door and said i'd stolen a paving slab, then bundled me off to the station, parked me in a cell for 4 hours and then said "you are free to go" and left me out in the freezing cold with just a tshirt on

hopefully i've only met the few arseholes and the rest are fine, but does it realy surprise you all when, no matter how courteous you try to be they are intent on nicking you for somenthing jsut to get some office time and a tea and buscuit while writing up a report?

(ok, it's not a cop slagging thread i know, but i've never had a copper come up to me when they've pulled me over and been "pleasant" about it, the ones i see when i'm at work are all fine because they are all on foot, perhaps i'm onto something there)

 

I can some this up quite easily guys, there are so many wankers out in the big bad world, and unfortunatly some of them wear a uniform . I am a copper, I am poud of what I do for a living, I am proud of the fact that I don't treat people like idiots, I don't treat them with disrespect, and I do my job the way it should be done. And I know there are other people in the job who don't have the same attitude as me, it's a shame but it's true. Just don't give the ones with a bad attitude any rope to hang you with, no matter how badly they treat you, be as polite as possible to them, that will annoy them more than you being a dick back, because they will have nothing to go after you for, and you walk away knowing that they tried their level best to wind you up, and it just didn't work at all

Just out of interest, how would you have reacted if you were the copper i spoke to last night and i gave you all the details i had to, and then refused to talk to you further on the grounds there was no need.

Ie do you view that as polite or impolite, for me to not want to share anything about my private life with her?

Like a say bud, there are idiots in uniform, with bad attitudes, but I personally think that a Police officer job is to act with total integrity and be professional at all times, the day I don't act like that is the day I will hand my warrant card back, and I certainly aint gonna do that just because someone won't tell me why they are in the area I work in

I have been in the job 2 years now, and I have seen many unpleasent things, but I still feel great satisfaction in the little things like helping old guys that wander into the office and don't know how they got there or where/who they are, or pretty much anyone who needs help

thing is, the few bad coppers tend to make all the headlines for all the wrong reasons
the majority of good coppers just do their coppering and no one makes a fuss so they aren't noticed

you can't please all of the people all of the time, but would you prefer it if they were all over 6 foot etc like they were supposed to be back in the day? i'd have much prefered a clip round the ear and been told "don't do that again ya eejit" for racing coppers off the lights (like my cousin used to do way back in the 70's) than "fill this form in, in triplicate, then send this of to me and this off to them and etc" because i've stopped at a set of traffic lights and the copper is having an arsehole day like them seem to be doing nowadays
