Anti lag and driving.
...very odd sensation...LOL.....the car feels slower as you no longer have that drop off then bang in with the power...i have experienced what a n/a cosworth would be like.
Fucking great fun though...on my Saff i only used it for scary old people and small children...not i only use it when i feel like travelling fast around some lanes

Dont run a dump valve.
I guess i only been given mild BUT it works a treat still..NO LAG between gear changes thats what i want isnt it?
...May sound a silly question but does upping the boost increase the idle boost pressure? I am only running 18psi at prensent!!!!Will be running 2 bar soon so will that bring idle up to 1 bar ish?

Markk...i have seen Daves run about 1 bar at idle down SouthEnd!!!
...so does mine sound correct Markk???0psi @ idle...thats all i want to know ...and how do you tell whats mild ALS and whats aggressive??? TBH although i didnt reach 0psi on using a std iscv it was far noisier!!!

What does aggressive do over mild anti lag?

the differance between a system that has a small bypass and a large bypass of air is massive, the inbetween gearchange use ( as its designed for) is so much quicker back on boost - in fact your never off boost, my engine is a high comp unit, on the road is very crisp, very low geared as well, but use it without and als on a stage and it feels as flat as an 8.0:1 engine - absolutly gutless, even on a small bypas ( my stage one ) the differance is stunning, on stage two - on gravel in a 2wd car its frightening the way the power delivery is and any revs.
just a small test for you, run your engine, then power your bypass valve open ( not by switching the als on as this will retard the ign also) but just power the valves up and see how high the revs go ( dont make it stay there as it will rev high) just a quick power on- power off and see how much air you are actually bypassing

Markk...i now run the Mountune version...the Grp A one i have makes the system much louder IMO but cant use it as when you switch it off it revs upto 5k idle ...noted over 0psi about 2 psi @ idle....it works by springs so it can never stick but i took it apart to locktite the nut on and must have it incorrect adjusted ...As said the std ISCV gave it a bit but was very bangy
Driving with the Mountune one is good it really does feel no lag between changes...but looking at the boost gauge it goes 0 psi idle and when thrashing and change gear it drops back to 0psi but goes back to 20psi almost instantly.
So why is there variations between the std/Grp A and Mountune items?
The mountune one on start up goes to about 2300 rpm then drops so there is your answer to your question!!!!...but no where newar as bangy as the other 2..WHY?

the amount of antilag ( not interested in how much boost it makes whilst switched on as this will vary with heat ) given will depend on how much air we can bypass at closed throttle, but the more you have the more control we need to have to preven power from actually being created at 'off throttle' ( as its not actually idle really !! ) hence the more retard you need to use in the ignition, the more of this process we use the more heat we generate, then we need to reduce this heat to get more efficiant and to also try and combat the PROBLEM of noise ( research EGR) - the group A valve you have is or probably was made by mountune in the 1st place , the rest tend to be bad copy, relying on gravity to close the valve in the OFF position - hence no contol over the valve for closing hence why you see alot of these cars(road cars) with ALS having problems of instant high revs upon initial startup.

...so which valve should i use?Grp A or the Mountune (copy or whatever!)...i see what you mean about gravity my lastest valve needed cleaning to make the bit drop more easily!...My proper one it appears cannot fail...except i need to set it up correctly to work off ALS
What i cant figure is why ALS is quieter on the Mountune copy than the std or Grp A valve!...i WANT noise
