216 mph Cosworth run during Vmax day at Nardo
According to the write up in Street Racer (an Americam mag) a Swedish Sierra Cosworth hit 216mph at Nardo in August.
Anybody have any further info on this?

The 213mph car has a claimed 740bhp and was stripped out. It achieved its top speed in one circuit of Nardo (12km) from a standing start. That is impressive but nowhere near as impressive as Rods fully trimmed car hitting 206 in 2.4km.

we want proper vids this time, not just the pass (an incar accelerating maybe... )
i m sure that if weather allows, you have a 210+ mph pass easily...
and maybe it needs to be lowered a lil bit for such runs... do u consider to install a front lower spoiler? it is critical for speed runs...

If thats the case im sure its a Swiss car and not Swedish as the yank always mixed us up.
its like me telling an austrailian they come from albania, just because it has the same first fookin letter...

Dont forget that Joel is carrying around an extra 4-500kgs or so compared to a Sierra.
Thats a lot of extra weight to haul to any given speed over a short distance. So a Sierra with similar power should have that advantage.

Fantastic time but not in as short a distance as Rod. Yeah whats happening with the aerodynamics Rod? I thought a lower front and functional rear diffuser would help significantly? Anything in the pipeline, I would expect so now? Anybody know lots more about aerodynamics on here?

The criteria for Topspeed over here is circa 1.5miles & thats all im interested in. The Brunters record is 211 & thats the aim. Very , very few cars in the UK have gone faster than that in that distance.

Its down to aerodynamics
Mines 3.11 secs quicker to 180, but only .99 secs quicker to 200 so mines in real trouble after 200 the Maccas still getting going. Can only load mine up with more Power & hope. .

I know it really boils down to aerodynamics. I own a brick lol
Wasnt Joels run over 1.5 miles too ? albeit not at Brunters..
Its surprising Calder dont do better with top speeds, considering the power they claim they have.

Think Joels may well be a record in 1.5 miles.
These speeds will be academic when Kieth does a Topspeed run next year. Hes capable of 215 within a mile. just ask Mark.

Academic maybe, but what are the criteria for the record ?
Is it for road cars, or race cars pretending to be road legal, but they are never actually driven on it. Apart from maybe to get to their trailers.
I'd be pretty sure his car would have no chance of passing an MOT over here.
