He even challenged my RST to a race at the pod thinking his RS1600i would beat it while i was running 9.5psi and producing nearly 150bhp

people are raving on about the focus RS now... when they first came out people were well well quick to turn their noses up at the FWD not a proper RS blah blah etc...

now they best thing since sliced bread.

tuning potential.... yeah right maybe in about another 5 years times... has anyone done anything special with a focus RS yet?

Robs SCC was one of the most modded engine wise... really haven't seen much in the way of work being done on them. one or two examples with above a 40% power increase??

so people who reckon the 5 cylinder of the new ST and the tuning potential.... thats gotta be about 25th on the list of priorities when shelling out on a NEW car surely.

wiper blades?? whats special about them?? arent they just a big heavy chunk of rubber like on the normal focus?
mind you.. suppose its cool if in a tricky situation you could get out of the car, remove the 'blade' and beat them in a 'hatchet' harry style from lock stock

i have a rs focus and have just been out in the new st all i can say is the st is a great car and i think ford will sell loads of them, it pulls well from low down and sounds cool, not as hard as the rs and the traction controll whould take a bit to get use to ( the roads were damp) but i did like it.
I think the st will lose more money faster than the rs only because they will make 1000s each year and in orange they do look much better than on tv, i whouldnt sell the rs to buy one but if i didnt have the rs and was looking for a fast ford hatch it whould be hard to pick witch one.

Can only be good and i hope fords keep on making good fast fords like the years gone by

very interesting thread........

my point is the price is very similar, 15 k will get me either

i have to use this everyday, it will be my only car

the fact that its faster round the ring is of no concern to me, if you put a stainless and bluefin on th RS it would prob do the ring in the same time!!

just would be happier spending my hard earned on a 'new' focus rather than an old one

but.............the FRS would be a more suitable replacement for my escort, and is much much cooler than the St will ever be

what a pickle!!

someone just lend me 30k and i'll have both

has anyone on here actually driven both as i'd appreciate their opinion

have to agree with that, i saw one in the flesh and had a sit in it at mph 05, was dead impressed

i am actually keener on the ST above the RS, but i think thats cos i can afford it, whereas when the RS came out there was no chance of me buying one

Hasn't Dunccoss driven both?

I think buying brand new is for the very rich or the very stupid, you'd be better off waiting 6 months or so.

There's a handfull of 350+ BHP FRS in the country and to be honest a shit load are running 260-300BHP which vastly improves the car.

i'm not that patient

plus with these internet car dealers you can get the car forup to 2k off list!

even if i walked into a ford dealership in 6 months theres no-way i would get one that cheap.

The ST is better looking both inside and out, did you see it going round the TG track? Yum. The FRS is good but i'd have the St over one any day.

i tried about 10 times to get the right grip but
, i opened the door soo fast when i got the keys i dont even remember touching the handles

you sure thats not a faulty one like that ones thats done 3rd gear and its getting a replacement in 28 days from germany ( when that takes a week to get parts from germany )

is it sad to say i like the look of the back seats more than the fronts
