which mobile phone company uses the number 078

for example o2 start with 077............

There's no guide.

An 078 number may be years old (derived from an old 08 number) and could have been transferred from another Network/s.

Yes that may be so, but its not 100%.

E.G. Old 0836 number became 07836 and since their change several years ago could have been 'Ported' from Network to network.

Mine starts 079 and I'm with Vodafone, but I got the number when I was with T-Mobile (well, actually One-2-One!!)

there is NO GUIDE whatsoever

ANY number can be ported to a different network, im on 07940 and ive been on orange, t-mobile and O2.

I know, thats what i was trying to say

As in his 1st post he said o2 starts with 077

but not all 02's do, like mine

showing theres no way to tell,
