Default Powerflex -vs- Deflex Poly Bushes

Been looking into Poly Bushes, and the two main types seem to be Deflex and Powerflex.

Theres a fair price difference, and usually more expensive says a lot, but a lot of people are raving about, and i see a lot of cars listed for sale as having the Deflex bushes fitted to them lately.

Can anyone recommend one set over another as i am unsure what set to go for.

Deflex seem to be overtaking Powerflex in a big way though.

Thanks

Michael

Heard bad things about the engine monts too.. They needed alot of mods to fit, and then they were no good.

Powerflex = tried and tested method

Its really odd....

You hear VERY bad reports from some people and good reports from others.

I have Deflex bushes fitted to the front of my Series 2 [including gearbox mounts] and I've had no problems whatsoever in the year they have been fitted.

They fitted well on my car.

And I found the customer service very good.

So the total opposite to the people above

I think Poly Race [as mentioned by Brom] are an cheap alternative

The actual material is identical - they ar all polyurathane - a v cheap to make plastic. The diff in quality is the fit. If your deflex bushes fit, then ur sorted

andy like i said on FT i dont think its the quality of the bushes that are crap for the fiesta gearbox mounts, and if your moaning about having to drill out the cradle then you know that before you buy them and if you cant be that then do not buy them!

the main falling point is the quality of the washers, they bend far to easily!
had to use the std ford washers!

may give them a call regarding it as they are just too thin to be any good!

Just as i thought a 50/50 response lol

I dont mind paying top money for stuff for my cars never have done. But as someone has already said on this thread all poly bushes are made from the same material and the price of Powerflex compared to Deflex is a LOT different.

I just resent paying nearly double for exactly the same thing.

If Deflex are a shite fit though and are going to cost me a bomb to put right, then obviously i will go with the Powerflex

Does anyone have a link for this Poly Race crowd ? Brom ?

Cheers

Michael

Try look on Rally Designs website, I think they are the UK distributer for Poly Race.

my mate used to work for powerflex as one of the sales team and reckons that supeflex and deflex are utter crap compared to powerflex. somthing to do with how they are made and what they're made from. thing is whatever ones you buy, they're gona be better than 16yr old rubber ones on your motor. i recommend powerflex tho, the handling is soo much better now they are on

well, the powerflex ones on my sierra at the moment have been on 3 other cars over the past 8 years
great, no problems, fit and finish is perfect and they still work fine, everytime and anytime

i've boguht some deflex ones from donny the other week, full car kit is the same as the fronts from powerflex but they will be fitted to the granada in a weeks time so i'll report back then

i think that the powerflex moulds are better than the deflex ones so you have a much more consistent bush

on the other hand, i've tried fitting the ones that rally design do and they were a nightmare, didn't fit whatsoever and needed 12 hours to do
the powerflex ones took 35 minutes, to do both sides

i know what i'd rather be doing on a wet weekend but the new house comes with a central heated garage so thats a big bonus

Superflex are top quality - you'll never have a problem fitting them. New products are thoroughly tried and tested, and are removed from the catalog if they are later found to be unsuitable.

Delivery is also fast, service is good. They are more expensive - but if you want a bush without any bubbles in it and well moulded, then they are worth considering too.

I have Deflex one's on my mk2 fiesta and they seem ok bit tricky to fit sum of the kit but other than that they are fine.

i can even post pics of the shite compared to power flex ones
they are not the same material what so eva
deflex shite are like nylon with holes in it and furry edges and joints i can even post pics of them in a beam totally wrong size the beam moves up and down on the chassis leg as bush isn't fat enough compared to standard
i don't sell power flex so have no reason to big them up so to speak
just i have fitted or tried to fit delfex on several occasions and its been a night mare

http://www.superflex.co.uk/

They run a full page ad in Retro Ford, also I've seen their ads in Fast Ford too iirc - they have been around for years. Call Chris if you need any help, he's a top bloke.

not being funny but i fitted defi flew to my cabrio and then when i dont the runabout cabrio i done all the front bushes with ford ones and tbh the ford ones seem STRONGER and STIFFER than the defiflex ones i got

also the build quality is much better

but then the cossie has powerflex all over ( totally done now) and thats the same finish as the ford ones but are in pretty colours ( shame there either purple or yellow )

but personally for any car im gonna be using GENUINE ford ones only now, shame there soo fucking much though

use powerflew i the rear wishbone on a MK4 escort though

ive tried all 3 on my cossy this is what i think

powerflex...... very high quality. shiney surface. injection moulded. great fit

poly race....... high quality. matt finish.injection moulded good fit. not as good as powerflex but still good with great value for money

deflex........... low quality. gloss finish. pored into a mould (has air bubbles in & doesn't look to nice) fit isn't bad. great budget alternative, better than 17 year old std 1's & probably better than new std 1's

i would use deflex again but not on a cossy. best all rounder with value for money is poly race, but absolute best, money not a problem has gotta be powerflex

mate before you say that comment POP into fords and have a looksy and see what you think

they a shite load more stiffer to actually feel and ALOT better made with no air bubbles

id never go back to anything else imo apart for the rear wishbone on e MK4 escort as theres no alternative and then it would be powerflex or maybe even rose jointed ONLY !!!!
