Just see if the ecu number is in my database as a starting point, if so ive done one before.

http://www.motorsport-developments.c...data/index.php

If not, lets have a look at it, but i cant see a problem at all, its all simple enough stuff.

Stu, stop being a cryptic fooker

I dont know what you do in terms of live mapping when its for a an ECU that requires a "chip" rather than just flashing a few bits of data onto it.

Or is it the case that any car you have ever done a chip for implies you can livemap it?

Sorry pal, i often forget some people see this as a black art in some ways. Yes, thats pretty much correct apart from a few examples that use processors instead of prom's. Basically, if it uses an EPROM, i can emulate it.

Nice one, thought that would be the case on something like this (as opposed to a 205gti for example which i assume you couldnt map?)

In that case, i think you might prove popular in the world of vauxhalls soon, as i may bring my nova up to you in the new year.

As far as the vauxhall lads are concerned currently, its the case that if they want to go for a big spec motor and need a map as opposed to an off the shelf chip, they currently all fit DTA or Autronic as they see that as the only optio (myself included!) which is a shame cause the 2.7 is actually a great ecu really with some pretty advanced knock sensing and the advantages in economy you get from lamda and airflow etc when compared to say an L6 or whatever.

So they have all been feeling inferior when really they just didnt know who to go and talk to

See told you it would be popular

Seriously Stu, if i put a post up on migweb about this you would probably get a lot of people interested!

Would you mind replying to a topic on there with stuff such as approx prices for a live map if i started one saying you can do it?

Its something that people really are crying out for!

The internal one is good for fairly high boost anyway as far as im aware mate.

I would imagine its a 3 bar one anyway, but i dont know for a fact.

I can only go by what ive seen, which is people running over 1.5 bar without changing anything, so from that im making the assumption that the map sensor can go past 2.5bar therefore must be a 3bar, but i could well be wrong, as its not something i have done personally, it may just be those people were off the end of the map at 1.6/1.7 bar.

If you look at the specs for evo6 chips though, they dont mention any such changes and they run to 22psi, and that is suspiscously similar to 1.5 bar, so that might imply thats as much as the hardware can handle!
Esepcially as the phase 4 DOES have a change i beleive.

So possibly it is only 2.5 bar after all.

Not at all Pal.
It suprises me that no one else bother's mapping them though i must admit. Its hardly a complex system.

The problem i have is time... to start doing big lairy injector conversions i need access to one for some time to be able to figure out where some of the lesser utilised maps are and how the checksums can be defeated. Simple sparka nd fuel table stuff is no problem at all, so it depends exactly what is required for the conversions you have in mind. If i cant do it 100% properly, i wont do it at all.
