According to a copper who posts on scoobynet, she was a probationer and had only been in the force for 5 months. That is so sad

My daughter is a police officer in Merseyside Police force and more than once I have received phonecalls saying... "This is Merseyside Police Force, your daughter has been injured in an incident and is in the Royal."

My heart goes out to her family. That's one call I hope my family never has to get.

I can't believe the officers there are still unarmed, I've been a officer here in the states for over 7 years and thankfully have not had to fire my weapon at a suspect but it's nice to know I have one.

I hear cries for the death penalty & at times like this it sounds about right.
But i can remember an innocent man being hanged on the evidence of an ex-copper who turned out to have done several murders including the one that the innocent was hanged for. Been anti-hanging since then & still am.

The only acceptable use of the death penalty in a civilised society is at the request of a convicted person looking at the rest of their natural life in prison.

If I was facing that I'd consider it.

No one has the right to take a human life, no matter how much they may think that person deserves to loose theirs.

im in my third week out on the streets of halifax, the one that died was at training school while i was there but not at the same stage, she was a good few months ahead of me.
although one of the lads on my shift was on her intake!
annoys me when the press make a massive point of the two of them being probationers, they dont realise that the call came through as a personal attack alarm NOT an armed robbery which is why those two attended, otherwise armed response would have turned up instead.

hopefully the bastards they have in custody are the ones that did it
