Default motorsport escort cosworth value (no engine)

There's a white escos I know of near me thats been sat in a garage for around 12 months now. I know the garage owner (as my mate used to work there) vaguely, and quite a while ago he wanted to sell it but never got round to it. The brief conversation we had informed me that the car is supposedly straight and decent history with around 67,000 miles on it. Lowered on coil overs i believe (a bit too much possibly!), and with some white 18's as far as i remember. Also a puma racing interior (blue velour bits).
Its a 'motorsport shell with i.d plate' - thats my first question, whats that all about? thats not a monte is it? or is it just bullsh*t? secondly, there's no engine because the previous owner blew it up with NOS, however he has an engine (which he claims is a runner) that he can supply with car.

So, supposing this car IS what he says it is, straight, legit, HPI etc and supplied with a standard but unknown engine what sort of money is it worth with the engine on the floor? Car covered in dust and probably suffering a few dings from being sat in a corner of a workshop for long enough!
I believe at the time he wanted 10k, or 14k with installed, both of which are laughable prices but then he does like to try it on with me as he thinks im just a boyracer with no idea lol. Any advice on this much appreciated

Not all m/sport shell were unsealed only the ones that were sold as a trimmed shell ,, the complete cars sold were all sealed and available in most std colours

well this one has puma racing interior so i cant comment on that. so basically the motorsport cars were a more basic roadcar than the standard cars? so i should be looking for no sunroof, no leccy windows etc?

whats this about sealing? as in door seals etc?

c'mon people anymore comments on value? is the above quoted 5-6k about right?

How is it essential??? I don't think I've ever even opened the sunroof on my Sapphire!!

Must just be down to personal preference.
