Even though the Gates belt aint a proper group a item it shure looks stronger than the standard belt so its a bit unfair to call the Gates standard when in fact its reinforced.

Ive seen non Ford belts for the YB that looked like a rubber band with no visible reinforcement at all. Thankfully the customer realized this and bought the belt from me instead.

And did you see the pics of Martin Reylands awesome tall-block engine yesterday? It's fitted with a Gates "Powergrip" cam belt (longer than the standard YB type because of the raised head height)
