The issue really is there are two distinct area of sky that are both equally interesting in their own right...
Again there is confusion for the eye, its drawn left and right but always back to the centre of the picture where the sun is....

The Kulala Lumpur pic I liked in B&W coz it looks moody, and the Kairkoura one was lovely sky, but wonky horizon lol
Glad you like

You can see I like Landscape & Nature
Guess I didn't think bout cropping my original, as I liked my younger sister and her friend & Dad coming back from the sea...
How do you like these Niel?
The Guy Fawkes has been submitted to another competition, awaiting verification...
This DOES need cropping, was told that on a forum already, just not got round to it yet

I think I prefer it a little more equatorial to make the contrast.

I can see what you are saying... but the emphasis of the picture is the dramatic sky, the horizon is only to 'ground' it all and give it some perspective...
But lets face it.... Photography is just art... its all subjective there are some guidelines for what makes a good photograph but at the end of the day its what the viewer likes themselves...
The difficulty as a photographer is developing an individual style and making your photographs 'original' and not cliched

Just photoshop the Guy Fawkes into Grayscale for me mate..
Its a stunning pic anyway.... but it think it would be something entirely different in black and white....

Not operating ther camera and all that bollocks, it's seeing an image, and knowing how it will work when finalised.
It's not easy, I'm still learning, but having a damn good time doing it
The logest I spent taking a shot was the guy fawkes sihlouette. Changed positions numerous times, waited for better sunset etc
I'll have a go at greyscale at home, dont have PS at work and may need to play with the levels

I prefer the second one.
It's a top picture mate, maybe having just the sky isn't a bad idea.
I wouldn't mind having a similar greyscale sky shot on my wall.
Or alternatively you could put a big shark fin in the water and pretend it was from one of the first scenes in Jaws!

Wanted that feeling to be portrayed, for one reason being the fact we were going home back to the British winter from what was a glorious New Zealand summer

Does have a pre-war feel to the state of the image, even if the plane featured is new age.
Glad you like

Shockingly, I'm up to having roughly 5k of photos on a 120gb external drive now, they soon mount up, with the help of a trip to New Zealand lasting 6 weeks lol
Definately send some over, I love them, possibly my fav style of photograph when done nicely
Cheers Rad

Not a bad subject/hobby to be involved in though eh
Some fantastic things can be done when you put your mind and imagination to it.
Theres a website I got told to check out when I first started my B&W's, and if I find the link I'll show it you, Im sure you will like
