Hi,

I asked this the other day but i need some more info if anyone knows.

Under the dash i have 5 relays above the pedals

1 = red
1 = blue
1 = green
1 = yellow
1 = purple

I think thats the right colors (at work now so thats from memory)

What does each one do??

The loom is a 1990 MK4 XR3i EFI (not covered by escort Haynes manual).

They should be the same as the non EFi XR, the purple one is the Fuel pump relay, can't remember what the rest are of the top of ma head.

Mmmmmm thought the Red one was the fuel pump relay.

Nope am fairly sure it's the purple one. I had to replace the purple one on my RST so that the fuel pump would work, it's the same one as on XR's. Although bear in mind I am colour blind!

I think you may be coulour blind mate as i'm 99% the red one is the fuel pump.

The purple one has no relay in it???!!!!

This is what i think

Red = Fuel pump
Blue = ??
Green = ABS
Yellow = Injection
Purple = Heated Screen

If I had the car in front of me I could prob tell you from the wires going to the relays...

If you look at the end of the relays, there will be a letter stamped on some of em, like, if you look at the one in the fuse box (grey) for rear screen, it has "R" on the top, the one for front screen has F on top IIRC...

Think you will find purple one is feul pump

The red is a little one yeah like a 1inch cube? where the others are longer yeah?
