In my opinion definitely not.

An RS is an RS, simple as that.

Well I have an XR, an RS and an ST and I wouldn't join the RSOC even if they were paying me to do it....

The ST Owners Club would not entertain the XROC when asked to amalgamate - I think they laughed! Anyway, when there are clubs out there like STOC and the FiestaSTOC who are perfectly ok as they are. As far as someone suggesting that the RS and XR join forces - you are seriously having a laarrff! This aint Holland you know! The RSOC think XR's are the dirt of the earth!

LOL, if they do bring back the XR2 - let just see what happens cos I am sure there's plenty of time for Ford to change their minds on this point and call it an RS, cos lets face it, even Ford haven't given two hoots about the XR for over 12 years now.... bet they won't offer the XROC sponsorship like they do the RS Club.

There are a good mix of clubs out there at the moment and I am sure there will be more before the year's out. I have to agree that a car club should be about the people in it and not just the marque of car you drive and I am sure I have caused more than one public outcry by sticking Puma's and Escorts on the XROC Northern branch stand..... I dont personally give a fook either...... we are in the club to have a good time and meet new people who enjoy doing similar things .... not to argue the toss over public liability insurance!

Erm did anyone claim we we are a big club? as far as I know mate most of the shows I have been to, we've held our own, quite often Dwarfing the XROC I simply stated that I was pissed off with all the polotics in the XROC which I know IS STILL GOING ON and decided to go in a different direction, I suggested to Les Gent 5 years ago, before there was anything called the STOC or any derivative, that the XROC take ST's on and was slagged off to fuk... As for the STOC laughing off the XROC amalgamation did you try it with everyone? Cuz when your bloke rang me and asked if I wanted the Club I pissed myself...

Dont hate the RSOC far from it, just think it's time some people wake up and smell the roses, non of the OLD style clubs will be what they were due to the massive amount of clubs out there, has everyone forgot the FFOC? I'm sure they have as many if not more FRS's in there club than the RSOC what makes you think people will jion the RSOC even if they decide to open up to other marques?

or you could say why let RS's into ST Owners club

id rather have my ST than most RS's thank you st220's with 245+ bhp as std, that will piss over most RS's in standard form and wont break when pushed to their absolute limits.

about people change their minds on the ST marque.. its here to stay and is fords future.. PF and FF are seeing this everyone needs to as well

Reading the crap posted on here always makes me laugh. It's been said 100's of times before but the RS2000 m5a/m6 won at national level. Not many other RS models have done that.

The ST170 has nothing other than the ford badge in common with the rally car, even the Focus RS probably only shares the badge.

Im pretty fed up of people blinkered views on what should and should be an RS, if it has the badge then its an RS.

Question? how many 400 brake cossies got eaten up by the F2 Rally car at the RSOC National day, it was only running 285 brake LOL.

Now ST's should not be in the RSOC, its a different marque, the RSOC wont die out just like that for a while yet, not as long as people look after what they have.

Great yet again the RS 2000 is put down I'm sick and tired of this, fair enough they are harder, well just more expensive to tune than say an rs turbo, but in standard form they are a far superior car. How do i know this? I've owned both! What is there so much hate/dislike dircted at these cars? I bet if the same car ran a turbo engine people would love them, just shows the narrow mindedness of some so called car enthuiasts.

They are a car deserving of the RS name - end of story.

Oh yeah on the origonal post - No ST should not be in the RSOC, simply because they are not badged RS. Not putting them down, the ones i've driven ST 170 and STTDCi mondeo are excellent cars. Letting them in defeats the purpose of the RSOC.

Why would any of the clubs mentioned above want to join up with other clubs?

its all about being more interested in one particular mark/model/make than another.
there's a mazda mx5 owners club, do they want every other mx owner
in their club?..........probably not.

mr2 owners club, do they want every toyota owner in their club?

and there's loads more probably.

keep them seperate i say, there's plenty places such as here for general
ford owners to frequent if thats what they want.

i'll just keep my RS and enjoy all the different visiting car club stands at
all the shows i visit. one word.......INDIVIDUALITY!!!!

No No No
I'm in the RSOC and Torbay Capri club.
We all get on very well but have no wish to amalgamate with each other or with any other clubs.

What an ace wind up..................

RSOC and STOC coming together

If Ford ditch the RS brand for good then the RSOC becomes a heritage/classic club. Membership will always be strong as people still love their RS cars. Many many performance cars are still to this date compared with old RS's from the past, MK1 and MK2 Escorts, RS500 touring cars, Escort Cosworth etc etc etc.........

Just because Ford gave away 5000 RS Focus's and haven't made another mass produced car doesn't mean the club is going to fold over night. With tens of throusands of members it isn't going to dissapear in my lifetime!
