Still does trackdays etc in it as far as im aware.
If it does im imressed, i read that like he built it soly for 1/4.
i know a lot of cars over here that i have been looking at rave about there 1/4 but anything different and they would be crap! as they are built soly for that purpose. Dont get me wrong impressive!! but people say a lot of cars are shit at 1/4 when they arnt built for the initial grip etc etc
Chip was it you building a car for 1/4 too? or am i getting mixed up as i know u got a few nippy cars.

Im building my mini to use as a fast road car mainly, thats always been the aim, but i am interested in running up the quarter as well, but its only one of the things i want from it, trackdays interest me more really from a driving point of view, but from a building an engine point of view im very bothered about the terminal speed on the quarter as thats the ultimate test for an engine really in terms of power, but the speed interests me more than the time, so im not fussed about setting it up to launch on the quarter just to shave a few tenths off, cause thats where you start wrecking it for everything else.
Yeah thats the ting you cant have it handeling good on track, yet soft as shit so it grips of the mark etc.
What motor your going to use Chip out of intrest? Fair play i wouldnt mind having half your toys

Steel motorsport crank
Steel rods
Forged low comp pistons (8.2:1)
Hotter (than calibra turbo std) cams, on vernier pulleys
Garrett GT series turbo
DTA P8 Pro management
Tubular manifold
Block has been destressed by hand by me with files and die grinder
Line bored, then the bottom skimmed referenced to the bearing tunnel then the block top skimmed relative to that, so that when it was bored i could guarentee it was exactly perpendicular to the crank
Head has:
21-4n steel waisted stem inlets (+1mm oversive)
21-4n steel exhausts (+1mm oversive)
ported to my specs with nitrous use in mind
Wizards of nos nitrous kit with maximiser controller
I'll be making 500bhp ish, and attempting to put it to the road by a 6 speed gearbox in FWD format.
Silly keeping it FWD really, as would be a 9 (or certainly 10) second car too probably if i went mid engined, but to me its kind of not really a mini any more then, and i wanted to built the ultimate (for me, obviously everyone likes different things) mini without it stopping it driving like a normal mini.
Still very much a work in progress, but here's a few shots of it so far:
head and valves:

approx how it will look assembled (i just put it together to check clearance between the manifold turbo flange and the block, its not bolted up yet here as i'm still working on the head at the moment)

The oil squirters ive installed in the block, as unlike a cossie it doesnt have a spray bar as standard so ive had to invent my own method for doing that (with some advice from Stu@MSD
and ACDodd from ML motorsport)
Random picture of the block:

Hoping to get the mini done in 2007 some time.
Dont get much spare time and ive got a lot of work to do on Robs astra engine for next year, so the mini is kind of pushed back by that, and also by the mid engined nova which ive got to finnish, not to mention a new engine for the cossie.
Too many toys and not enough time sadly!
I don't think it's entirely fair to say that Stuart Meads Mini is specifically built for drag racing. It's not like its space framed running a hemi and got a pair of drag tyres on the back.
