I need some flexible welding cable - the rubber coated 1cm thick copper cable, think it is jsut power cable to mig welders.

I have some in me work van to connect the 240v inverter to a second battery in the back, but I want to move my inverter but there is no slack on the cable so need some new lengths. Roughly 2 lots of 2 meter lenghts I reckon.

Tried today to get some but there's fook all round here - only place I found it was BOC and they want 18.63 + VAT So told em to fook off

Anyone get it at trade and wanna let me buy 4meters please?

 

Sorry, meant to add it is the 25mm core thickness stuff

Deffo 25mm (but thats the outside measurement I guess - including the rubber insulation) When I was at BOC he had three different sizes - 18mm, 25mm and 35mm and we compared em against the ones in me van and it was the same as the one he had with 25mm printed on the side....

Think it's quite heavy so I guess postage is out of the question

 

it does weigh a bit! its only the 18mm stuff we use anyway though, should be heavy enough i'd have thought as its rated to about 400amps.

 

Yeah it'd prob do, but with the postage it would probably come to the same ammount as the BOC stuff which is waaaaaaay to expensive - I only wanna pay a tenner

18mm will carry about 460 amps!! That is a lot of current! If you ever draw that much then your battery would be flat in a matter of seconds!

Lee - yeah pretty much the same thing as Earth cable....
