evening people!
i have to change the clutch on my s2, and i have a few qu's. i have changed a few 3i clutches before, so it isnt all new.
1: is the thing attatched to the back (looking from front) of the 'box the abs thingy?
2: is it easy to remove?
3: does the metering head get in the way of removing the cable on the clutch arm?
4: what else of the abs system gets in the way?
5: any other differances between the process on a s2 compared to a 3i
Last but not least... the adjuster... if the biting point is soooooooo low that your struggling to disengage the clutch, unless firmly stamped on it to the floor, along with very juddery biting point, and squealing release bearing, does this happen on clutch failure alone, or is the adjuster going aswell?
been quoted £200 w/o changing the adjuster
please any help guys!!!
mucho appreciated

abs unit is easy to remove. it works on little drive belts that run round the drive shafts (if they are still there the do snap sometimes. there is also a sensor on each abs pump that sit against the belts that control the abs light on your dash (so when the belt do snap the light comes on. the abs pumps adjust like a alternator to tension the belts. Its pretty easy once have a go.
The clutch cable is easy to get at but dont forget about the amal vavle that sits on top of gearbox make shure you mark where the 3 pipes go so you can put them on in the right place of else your boost will be all over the place!
